【新唐人2012年5月5日訊】5月3號，美國國會就陳光誠事件召開聽證會，要求中國答應陳光誠的要求，來美國留學和休息，同時也呼籲中共當局，釋放因營救陳光誠而遭關押的「女英雄」珍珠。5月4號，中共外交部發言，宣佈陳光誠可以到外國留學，珍珠也在推特上發表最新消息：我回家了。
盲人維權人士陳光誠在這一星期裡，不斷的牽動著眾人的心魂，吸引著全球的眼球。
陳光誠：「好不容易我逃出來了。」
一週前，他戲劇性的逃離拘禁他的家，進入美國大使館，5月2號又戲劇性的「自行離開」，進入監獄似的朝陽醫院。
5月3號，由美國聯邦眾議員史密斯主持的國會，就陳光誠事件召開聽證會。在聽證會上，陳光誠再度戲劇性的「現聲」，手機傳出中共沒有履行給他自由的承諾，他正式向美國政府求援的呼聲。
陳光誠：「在中美協議當中，中方承諾要保障我憲法的公民權利，說我是自由的，那麼既然我是自由的，我想我就有真正的自由權，當然也就有包括出入境的自由，我現在要求他們兌現這種諾言，給我出國修養的自由。」
史密斯先生當場答應陳光誠說，他和他的家人以及他的支持者都有資格來美國。
美國聯邦眾議員史密斯：「你和你的家人以及支持者都應該有資格到美國來。我們都為你祈禱，我們會不斷的為你的自由而努力。」
援救陳光誠的女英雄何培蓉，在陳光誠成功出逃後卻好像被世界遺忘了。5月3號，女權無疆界負責人瑞潔女士（Reggie Littlejohn），在聽證會上問，珍珠在哪裏？她呼籲並要求美國像保護陳光誠一樣保護珍珠。
瑞潔女士（Reggie Littlejohn）： 「我非常擔心珍珠，我擔心她可能受到酷刑，因為她是營救陳的主力，我們知道已經有很多參與這種事情的人，都遭到共產黨審訊了，因此我緊急呼籲，在考慮幫助陳光誠的同時，也包括珍珠，我真的非常感謝國會議員們考慮這一點，解救陳光誠，也解救珍珠。」
4號，珍珠在推特上放出了她失蹤以後的第一條消息：我回家了。
珍珠是南京的一名英文女教師，她的真名是何培蓉，汶川大地震時做救援義工，參與民間豆腐渣工程調查。一週前打扮成快遞員，成功救出陳光誠，但遭到當局的抓捕。
「女權無疆界」負責人形容珍珠是一位身材嬌小、卻有著鋼鐵般堅韌脊樑的女性。
遠離塵世的修行人妙覺認為，中國能允許陳光誠來美國，是國會聽證會的直接結果，是神的慈悲，與政治沒甚麼關係。
妙覺說，可悲的是，幫助陳光誠和建議他來美國的江天勇律師遭到了抓捕，目前還在中共的控制中。

US Congress Hearing on Chen Guangcheng Works
On May 3, U.S. Congress held a hearing
on the Chen Guangcheng case.
It asked China to promise to uphold Chen’s request to come
to the United States to study and rest.
They called on the Chinese Communist authorities to release
the heroine Pearl detained after to rescuing Chen.
On May 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP) announced that Chen could study abroad.
Pearl also released the latest news on Twitter:
“I got back home.”
Blind activist Chen Guangcheng attracted
global attention recently.
A week ago, he dramatically escaped from house arrest,
entering the United States Embassy.
On May 2, he dramatically left the embassy on his own,
and entered the prison-like Chaoyang Hospital.
On May 3, US Congress held a hearing on the Chen
Guangcheng case chaired by U.S. Congressman Smith.
At the hearing, Chen Guangcheng dramatically spoke
by phone, saying China failed to fulfill their promise to give him freedom.
He officially called for help from the U.S. Government.
Chen Guangcheng: “In the Sino-US agreement,
China has committed to protect my civil rights in Constitution.
They said that I am free, so I think I have the real right
of freedom, including freedom to enter and exit China.
I asked them to deliver on this promise, to give me
the freedom to go abroad for vacationing."
Mr. Smith promised to Chen Guangcheng that he and his
family,as well as supporters, are all eligible to enter the US.
He Peirong (Pearl), a heroine in rescuing Chen, seems
to have been forgotten after Chen successfully fled.
On May 3, Ms., Reggie Littlejohn, spokesperson of Women’s
Rights Without Borders asked at the hearing where Pearl is.
She called on the U.S. to protect Pearl in the same way
as Chen Guangcheng.
Reggie Littlejohn: “I am very worried about Pearl,
she might be subjected to torture.
She is the main person in responsible for rescuing Chen.
We have learned that a lot of people involved in similar
issues have been tortured by the CCP.
So I urgently appeal to consider helping Pearl
when helping Chen Guangcheng.
I am very grateful to members of Congress to consider
this point to save Chen Guangcheng, and Pearl."
On May 4, Pearl released on Twitter the first message
after her disappearance: “I got back home.”
Pearl, real name He Peirong, is an English teacher
in Nanjing.
She was a rescue volunteer in Wenchuan earthquake,
and participated in investigating of weak construction.
A week ago, she dressed as a mail carrier, and successfully
rescued Chen Guangcheng, but was arrest by authorities.
The spokesperson for Women’s Rights Without Borders described
Pearl is a petite woman, but has a steely tenacity and backbone.
Miaojue, a nun living in a temple away from ordinary society,
said China allowing Chen Guangcheng to go to the U.S.
is a direct result of the congressional hearing,
is the mercy of God, but has nothing to do with politics.
Miaojue: “The United States action is entirely of goodwill,
and has no interest to exchange with China.
They mainly want to help Chen Guangcheng out of danger.
A country with five thousand years of ancient civilization
utilized the state public authority and funds worth tens
of millions to persecute a person helping vulnerable groups.
They want protection of life, the interests of women
and children.
It is a huge shame in the history of mankind.
U.S. wants China to be able to stop this vicious circle of evil."
Miaojue said that sadly Jiang Tianyong, the attorney who
helped Chen, and recommended him to come to the U.S.,
was arrested and is still in the control of the CCP.
All these sudden incidents, have proved wrong that Chen
“left embassy by himself” and that this “won’t happen again.”
This was promised after both sides discussed.
It may become on of the most dramatic events
in the difficult history of Sino-U.S. relations.
