因為探訪關押法輪功學員的黑監獄,3月在黑龍江建三江被拘留、毆打的維權律師江天勇,4月22號拿到了他在天津醫院檢查的診斷結果,他有八根肋骨骨折。

江天勇從建三江獲釋回京後,一直被北京國保監控,電話也被做了手腳。他到醫院檢查,警察也貼身緊跟,結果,醫院檢查顯示「一切正常」。

由於疼痛難忍,江天勇4月18號,又到天津的醫院做了CT檢查,22號下午結果出來,共有八根肋骨骨折。

至此,建三江被拘留的四位律師,纍計被打斷肋骨24根,其中唐吉田10根、江天勇8根、王成3根、張俊傑3根。

警方阻止維權律師見德國副總理

正在中國訪問的德國副總理加布裡爾,原計劃4月23號在北京會見中國人權律師莫少平,但是,莫少平對媒體表示,北京警方阻止他前往。

莫少平表示,他當天上午9點多獲得邀請,11點警察就到了他的律師事務所,並明確告訴他,「上級不讓他去和副總理見面」, 還說,上個星期他和到中國訪問的德國外長施泰因邁爾見面,中共公安系統和北京市公安局的高層就已經很不高興了。

提供罷工工人諮詢 兩維權人士失蹤

廣東東莞「裕元鞋廠」數萬工人的罷工,4月23號仍在繼續,為罷工工人提供諮詢的深圳勞工維權人士張治儒和林東,被東莞國保傳訊後,失蹤已經超過30小時。張治儒的妻子認為他們可能已經被警方拘留。

張志儒是深圳「春風勞動爭議服務部」的經理,專門為外來打工者維權提供諮詢。張志儒和他的同事林東,在東莞「裕元鞋廠」4月14號開始罷工後就進入工廠,告訴工人應如何集體同資方討價還價,並告誡工人不要使用暴力,不要觸犯法律。

香港金融界籲中共停止干預港事務

香港70位金融界專業人士,4月23號發表公開信,要求中共領導人履行中英聯合聲明承諾,停止干預香港行政事務。

這封致中共國家主席習近平和北京駐港聯絡辦公室主任張曉明的公開信,提出了10點訴求,公開信的中文版,以整個廣告版面的形式,登載在香港《蘋果日報》上,英文版則刊登在英國《金融時報》上。

港新聞自由滿意度跌至新低

另外,香港大學民意研究計劃,4月22號公布的最新民調也顯示,香港市民對新聞自由的滿意度,跌到1997年主權移交以來的最低點。

The Jiansanjiang Four Lawyers had Multiple Ribs Broken

Human rights lawyer Jiang Tianyong who was detained and
beaten in Jiansanjiang for visiting Falun Gong practitioners
in black jail was diagnosed in Tianjin hospital on April 22
with eight broken ribs.

Jiang Tianyong was being monitored by Beijing state security
after being released from Jiansanjiang black jail. His phone
was tampered with.

He went to the hospital followed by the police and the hospital
examination showed everything is normal.

Because of pain, Jiang Tianyong went to Tianjin hospital on
April 18 for another CT scan.
On April 22 the result came back showing eight rib fractures.

Jiansanjiang detained four lawyers. Between them they
have numerous broken ribs.
Tang Jitian had 10 ribs broken, Jiang Tianyong had 8 broken,
3 for Wang Cheng and 3 for Zhang Junjie.

Police Prevented Human Rights Lawyers Meeting
the German Vice-Chancellor

German Vice-Chancellor Gabriel planned to meet Chinese
human rights lawyer Mo Shaoping in Beijing on April 23.
However, Mo Shaoping told the media that Beijing police
prevented him going to the meeting.

Mo Shaoping said he got the invitation at 9am. The police
came to his law firm at 11am to tell him he was not allowed
to meet Deputy Prime Minister.

They said that, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Beijing
Municipal Public Security Bureau and Public Security system
were very upset at his meeting with German Foreign Minister
Steinmeier last week.

Two Activists Missing For Providing Help to The Strikers

On April 23, the Dongguan Yue Yuen Shoe Factory strike by
tens of thousands of workers is still continuing.
Shenzhen labor activists Zhang Zhiru and Lin Dong who were
providing consulting for the strikers were subpoenaed by
Dongguan security and have been missing for 30 hours.

Zhang Zhiru’s wife thinks they may
have been detained by the police.

Zhang Zhiru is the manager of Shenzhen Chunfeng Labor
Disputes Services Center.

He provides consulting services to migrant workers.

He and his colleague Lin Dong entered Yue Yuen Shoe Factory
after the strike reached 4 days to tell workers how to bargain
collectively with employers and warn them not to use violence
to achieve their ends.

Hong Kong Business Professionals Demand
Universal Suffrage In Open Letter

On April 23, 70 financial professionals in Hong Kong issued
an open letter requesting the Chinese leaders to fulfill the
China-UK joint statement and stop interfering in Hong Kong’s
administrative affairs.

The open letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Zhang
Xiaoming, director of Beijing’s Liaison Office, presented a
10-point request list.

The Chinese version of the letter was published in Hong
Kong’s Apple Daily using the entire ad layout.
The English version will be published
in the British Financial Times.

Satisfaction of Hong Kong Press Freedom Falls to New Low

The Hong Kong University Public Opinion Program released
the latest poll on April 22 showing that Hong Kong peoples’
satisfaction with press freedom fell to its lowest point
since the 1997 sovereignty transfer.
