Bo Xilai Case: Heywood’s Mother Breaks Silence
Seeking Compensation

The trial of former Chongqing party secretary Bo Xilai
is expected soon.
The mother of British businessman, Neil Heywood murdered
in China by Bo’s wife Gu Kailai, broke her silence.
She issued a statement that after Heywood’s death,
there is no compensation from Chinese authorities.

In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, Ann Heywood said

she remained silent until now because she didn’t want to cause
“unnecessary embarrassment” to the Chinese authorities.
Even as it became apparent her son’s death was murder and
then the subject of a “systematic cover-up”.
However, circumstances now compel her to break her silence.

Regarding the compensation for Neil Heywood’s murder,
Ann Heywood stated that
“despite repeated discreet approaches to the Chinese authorities,
there has been no substantive or practical response.”

“My overriding concern has been for the security and
well-being of Neil’s two children.
Now aged just 8 and 12, they are particularly vulnerable
to the hurt and horror of their father’s murder, and
since Neil was the family’s sole breadwinner, to uncertainty and
insecurity, as there is no financial provision for their future.”

Ann Heywood urged Chinese authorities
to “show decisiveness and compassion,
to mitigate the consequences of a terrible crime and to enable
my family finally to achieve some kind of closure to our ongoing nightmare.”

So far, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
hasn’t made any response.

Neil Heywood’s Chinese Widow Requests Compensation
From Gu Kailai

According to Reuters, Neil Heywood’s Chinese widow, Wang
Lulu requested compensation from his murderer Gu Kailai

The report cited a source close to Wang Lulu that
Lulu had been pushing for compensation for herself and the two children from Gu Kailai.
Lulu and the children are believed to be still
living in Beijing.

The British Embassy in Beijing said they had passed on the
family’s concerns with lack of progress over the compensation request to the Chinese regime.

The report said Heywood family seeks up to $8.2 million
compensation.

New Book: Taiwanese Businessmen Escape From China

Although China and Taiwan have signed
investment protection agreements,
Taiwan businessmen who invested in China are
often deceived and lose everything.
A book, “Taiwanese Businessmen Escape From China”,
written by a Taiwan businessman was published in Taipei.

Radio Free Asia reported that the book was written by
Gao Weibang, director of Taiwanese Victims of Investment in China Association.
In the book there are thirteen victims who described their
painful experiences of investment in Mainland China.

Gao said these Taiwan businessmen invested in
business in China, but were cheated by the partner.
The common mistakes are initially to believe partners’ promises.

Once the money and technology were in place,
the partners used all the means to take over everything.

These victims tried different channels to solve the problem.

They went to local authorities, Taiwan Affairs Office and
other offices, even prosecuted them, but never any results.

Gao said that generally, when a robber steals your money
he will certainly run away and hide.
However, in Mainland China, they grab your factory, moving
your equipment, materials and molds into their factory.
They continue production. Such case
can’t be found anywhere in the world.
