北京維權律師王全章，4月3號在江蘇省靖江法院，為一名法輪功學員的信仰自由案件進行辯護後，沒有走出法庭。4月4號凌晨，王全章被投進靖江市拘留所，法院準備拘留他十天。
網絡上迅速發起「緊急營救王全章律師」行動。目前，多名大陸律師已親赴靖江同官方交涉，一些網友也前往聲援。
多名大陸律師認為，這是一起明顯的官方報復、構陷案件，法院是在濫用公權力壓制律師。
北京律師唐吉田對《希望之聲》表示，這個案件顯然就是為法輪功學員的信仰自由辯護。只要是官方稍微打了招呼的案件，律師就不敢介入，當事人的利益就更難維護。如果任由官方這樣無法無天，社會的潰敗將無法阻擋。
曾為重慶李莊案出庭辯護的律師楊學林也表示，這起事件表面上是對一個律師的司法拘留，實際上是官方對律師的公開挑戰，不僅涉及到律師的人身安全，甚至影響到中國律師界未來的的生死存亡。因此，他呼籲律師都要站出來維權。
專家：H7N9禽流感病毒已變異
衛生專家警告說，目前正在中國大陸傳播的H7N9病毒，似乎已經變異，應引起警惕。
據「英國廣播公司」《BBC》中文網報導，來自香港、美國以及日本等地的世界衛生組織專家，對中國提供的H7N9病毒進行研究後指出，變異後的病毒似乎更容易傳染人類。
專家們說，根據病毒基因判斷，目前中國傳播的H7N9病毒可以在禽類中傳播，但不會令它們發病以及死亡。這一特徵給控制病毒傳播造成困難。
專家建議，在發生人類感染H7N9禽流感病例的地區，對所有市售家禽進行大規模取樣以及化驗，即使看起來健康的家禽也不能放過。
佛山千人抗議 3百警力清場
4月3號，廣東省佛山市三水區樂平鎮隔坑村和上邊村，上千村民在源潭管理區示威，抗議徵地款被侵吞，要求調查和公開賬目。
村民在辦公室外高叫抗議口號，要求領導出來解釋，結果遭大批武警暴力驅散。
據《自由亞洲電臺》報導，當地村民表示，現場約有三百武警暴力清場，他們見人就打，多人被打傷，11人被抓捕。

Defense Lawyer Detained; Emergency Rescue Underway
On April 3rd, Wang Quanzhang, Beijing human rights lawyer,
defended a Falun Gong practitioner in Jiangsu Province.
He was defending the Falun Gong practitioner’s right to
freedom of belief but instead he didn’t leave Jingjiang Court.
On the morning of April 4th, he was in the Jingjiang Detention
Center, where the court wanted to detain him for 10 days.
Emergency rescue of Wang was rapidly initiated on the Internet.
Currently, many Mainland lawyers are off to Jingjiang to
negotiate. Some netizens also went to help.
Many mainland lawyers believe that this is obviously an official
retaliation. The court abuses its power to suppress lawyers.
Beijing lawyer Tang Jitian told “Sound of Hope" that this case
defends freedom of belief for Falun Gong practitioners.
As long as officials point out a case, no lawyers will dare to
interfere. So the defendant’s interests are harder to protect.
By allowing officials to do what they want,
social collapse will be hard to stop.
Yang Xuelin, defense lawyer for the Chongqing Li Zhuang
case, thinks, on the surface, it is about the detention of a lawyer.
In reality, it is an open challenge between
the officialdom and lawyers.
It may even affect the future survival in the future.
Therefore, Yang asked all lawyers
to stand up openly and defend human rights.
Experts: H7N9 Avian Influenza Virus Has Mutated
Health experts warned of caution over news that the H7N9
virus in the Mainland seems to have mutated.
According to the BBC reports, WHO experts
from Hong Kong, US and Japan, showed that
the mutated H7N9 virus in China seems
to be more easily transmitted to humans.
Experts say judging by the virus’ gene, the current
spread of H7N9 virus in China appears in poultry.
However it does not seem to be causing death in the birds.
This feature makes controlling the spread much harder.
In areas with cases of the H7N9 avian influenza large-scale
samplings and tests for domestic poultry is recommended,
including seeming healthy poultry.
300 Armed Police Disperse Foshan City Protesters
On April 3rd around one thousand villagers demonstrated
near Foshan City in Guangdong Province.
They protested against land appropriation and embezzlement.
They asked for an open investigation and financial accounts.
Villagers shouted slogans outside the office and
demanded explanations from the officials.
In the end, they were violently dispersed by
a large number of armed police.
According to Radio Free Asia, about 300 armed police cleared
the site. 11 villagers were arrested with many more injured.
