Millions of People Die From Cancer Every Year in China:
What’s Wrong?

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently published
a report showing the morbidity and mortality of cancer in the
world has continued to rise, especially in developing countries.

The report says Mainland China is the main area
that has new cancer cases.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) media also admitted
recently that nearly 3 million people die from cancer every
year in Mainland China.

But cancer was still a new word to Chinese 50 years ago.
What happened to China in just half a century?
Please see the report.

The WHO published The World Cancer Report on February
4, World Cancer Day this year.
The report says new cancer cases in the world will increase
from 14 million in 2012 to 21.6 million in 2030.
The death cases from cancer will increase
from 8.2 million a year to 13 million a year.

The report says nearly half of the new cancer cases in 2012
are from Asia, and the majority of the cases are from China.

The cancer deaths in Asia have increased more than 50%.

Lung cancer has the highest mortality of 19.4% in the world.
The next is liver cancer and stomach cancer.

The Chinese cancer registration center
published a report from 2012 last year.
The report says Mainland China has 3.12 million
new cancer cases every year.
2.7 million of the cases end in death from cancer,
which is 13% of the total death of residents.

But Chinese News Week revealed that the data of the report
was from 2009, and the current situation is even worse.

Chen Faqing, environmental activist in Hangzhou of Zhejiang
Province points out that 700,000 people in Mainland China
have early deaths every year due to air pollution.

Chen Faqing: “It’s the result of the CCP
disregarding people’s lives.
So, Wu Lihong and I published ads on New York Times
on December 30, 2012 and January 23, 2014.
We just want to request the CCP protects the environment,
not to lie to the people, and to practice what it preaches."

“Tai Lake guardian" Wu Lihong indicates that Tai Lake area
was very clean 20 years ago, but now not only the water
is polluted, but air, soil, and the food chain are also polluted.
The authorities invest tens of billions to control the situation,
dumping the polluted water directly into the east sea.
It harms the whole world, but the industry is not influenced.
Instead, the pollution scale is even greater.

Wu Lihong: “Official media and bureaucracy lied first,
and then the corrupt officials gained benefits afterwards.
Such a system is very horrible. The corrupt system
led to the outcome today."

China’s “cancer villages" are the consequence of
the environment pollution.
A document from the CCP’s Ministry of Environmental
Protection last February admitted for the first time that
Mainland China has around 459 “cancer villages".
And it’s gradually spreading to the middle west of China.

A third of China’s water source is groundwater, but experts
in China’s Geological Survey Bureau pointed out that 90%
of the groundwater has been polluted, and 60% severely.

The CCP mouthpiece Xinhua news report says monitoring
data of 118 Chinese cities shows that groundwater of 64%
of cities has severe pollution, 33% has light pollution, while
only 3% is clean.

Since 2006, China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection
and the Ministry of Land have invested over 1 billion yuan
to test the soil pollution, but the result is a state secret.

But public document of soil pollution of Guangdong Province
shows that 28% of the soil at the Pearl River Delta region
has excessive heavy metals.
Level three inferior soil covers 22.8% of the region.

The Asian air quality index map also shows that China’s
air pollution far exceeds that of other countries.

But Wu Lihong indicates that Chinese environment activists
are also the target of suppression of the CCP.

Wu Lihong: “The two farmers in Suzhou and Hangzhou
have defended their rights for 20 years.
They offended the bureaucratic interests.
We are threatened, suppressed, revenged, and monitored.
I have been detained several times. I was also put in prison
for 3 years in 2007."

It seems that Mainland China has a long ways to go
in order to solve the environment pollution issues.
