Hu Chunhua Received Xi-Li’s Orders, Shocking Guangdong Politics

After Hu Chunhua was appointed Secretary of the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP), Guangdong provincial government,
he launched frequent anti-corruption campaigns.

In the first half of this year, officials were continuously
sacked one after another.
Recently, 62 officials were investigated due to discipline
violations in Baiyun district, Guangzhou City.
It’s reported that Hu Chunhua received anti-corruption
orders from current CCP leaders Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang,
and corrupt officials who were promoted by former leader
Jiang Zemin, including his trusted aids, will be further ousted.
Let’s see the report.

On June 20, the Guangzhou Municipal Discipline
Commission announced that by the end of May,
investigations into 62 officials who violated discipline
in Baiyun district, Guangzhou City, will be opened.
Four are bureau-level officials, 19 are division-level officials,
11 are section-level officials and 28 are village-level officials.

Allegedly, prior to this, Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang met with
Hu Chunhua in March to discuss the three major problems
in Guangdong province, including anti-corruption.
They said “It’s a hard task, but we have to do it.”

Xing Tianxing, a political commentator, pointed out that
when Jiang Zemin was the General Secretary of the CCP,
he controlled the political and economic power,
especially in Guangdong.
Jiang Zemin arranged his long time, trusted officials to oversee
the so-called “open” ports, which reaped large profits.
So, the most fundamental reason why Guangdong
is so corrupt is directly related to Jiang’s gang.

Xing Tianxing: “What’s Xi Jinping’s main intention?
Is Xi Jinping’s target Jiang’s gang?
We don’t speculate recklessly, but we can see
the fundamental corruption is caused by Jiang’s gang.
Then, no matter whether Xi Jinping wants to build a new
regime or Hu Chunhua wants to build his reputation,
they will inevitably touch upon the interests of Jiang.
Then after they go forward, there will be fighting
between the two gangs.
Then, they must go against Jiang’s gang.”

It’s reported that from mid-June, the CCP Guangdong
provincial government sent out 10 working teams to inspect 20 counties (cities and districts).

Wang Yanwei, Chinese People’s Political Consultative
Committee (CPPCC) Chairman of Huadu district, Guangzhou, disappeared after he applied for sick leave on June 3.
The government didn’t answer questions regarding whether
Wang was involved in disciplinary violence.

In the past month, there have already been two
investigations of deputy secretary-generals of Guangdong
Provincial People’s Congress due to alleged “serious
violations of discipline.”
The two deputy secretary-generals are Li Zhujiang
and Chen Huayi.
Chen Huayi was Deputy Secretary-General of Guangdong
Provincial People’s Congress since January 2006,
and the Secretary-General at that time was Huang Liman,
who was involved in an adulterous scandal with Jiang Zemin.

Xing Tianxing: “He (Xi) can remove those people,
which means the power of Jiang’s gang in China’s politics has been severely weakened.
Jiang’s dying gang is too weak to protect its officials.”

In addition, Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post
reported that in April this year, the CCP Central Commission
for Discipline sent more than 70 officials to Maoming City,
Guangdong, to reinvestigate a series of corruption cases of Luo Yinguo, former CCP secretary of Maoming.
It shows out that Maoming’s corruption case may involve
more officials, including senior officials from CCP headquarters.

Liu Yinquan, chair of the Social Democratic Party in the U.S.:
“When Wang Yang led Guangdong, he launched a strong
anti-corruption campaign and arrested some officials.
I believe that after Hu Chunhua took office, he‘ll continue
the same strategy to clean corrupt officials out.
Especially recently, the CCP Central Committee
began to rectify the party.
In this time, I believe Hu Chunhua will follow through
with clean up.”

The Guangzhou Municipal Discipline Commission briefing
stated that most of the violent disciplinary cases
of the 62 officials are related to violations which were illegal
use of land and illegal construction.

Xing Tianxing: “If they don’t touch this interest group,
Thus, the authority can be hardly to continue.
because this issue seems the major reason for now
that Chinese people are against the CCP.
In fact, Hu Chunhua taking action at this point shows
other provinces that he got permission to do an experiment.”

Xing Tianxing said Xi-Li may use this opportunity to clean up
the corrupt officials in Jiang’s gang and replace some officials.
However, she also believes this attempt at maintaining
control won’t solve China’s corruption and livelihood issues.

With Guangdong officialdom being continuously cleaned,
the former and new members of the CCP Standing
Committee in Jiang’s gang, including Wu Bangguo,
Li Changchun and Zhang Dejiang,
visited Guangdong intensively from the second half
of February, arousing speculation.
