中國新年前夕，香港市民支援愛國民主運動聯合會、國際特赦香港分會等4個民間團體，於2月7號、8號，連續兩天，在香港的幾個繁華街區，開展「新春團圓行動」，呼籲中共當局釋放大陸異見人士、以及因為聲援「雨傘運動」而被關押的各地維權人士，讓他們回家過年。他們還為獄中良心犯募捐，很多香港市民也在現場簽名捐款。
中共查扣印梁振英肖像衛生紙
中共當局2月6號查扣了由香港民主黨在大陸訂購的7600卷廁所衛生紙和2萬面巾紙，這些產品上都印有香港特首梁振英的頭像、豺狼圖像、還有「騙」字字樣，以及中共黨徽。
香港民主黨人士表示，被查扣的衛生紙和面巾紙，原訂要拿到下週開張的年貨市場上銷售，為爭「真普選」行動籌募資金。
法新社報導說，香港民主黨總幹事林卓廷表示，這些產品只是在開玩笑，並不危害國家安全，中共的做法是打壓言論自由。
高耀潔獲獎 揭大陸艾滋真相
中國防治愛滋病學者高耀潔，2月7號，在美國紐約獲得2014年度「劉賓雁良知獎」，評獎委員會表示，獎項授予她，是為了「表彰她持守良知、悲憫蒼生之人道精神和母愛」。
高耀潔在致獲獎詞中，再次指出中國愛滋病毒傳播的主要途徑，不是性傳播而是賣血和輸血，但是中共現在仍然從上到下都在掩蓋。她說，武漢大學桂希恩教授的統計顯示，賣血農民感染愛滋病率高達60%，而夫妻中一方有愛滋病的同居5到10年，感染率不到10%。
現年88歲高齡的高耀潔醫生，2009年為保存愛滋病資料，而離開中國，前往美國，自2010年起在紐約曼哈頓居住。
河南舞鋼數千人罷工要求加薪
2月7號，河南平頂山市舞陽鋼鐵公司的數千名工人，因工資過低發起罷工，要求公司加薪。
據美國《大紀元》新聞網報導，工人在與公司高層談判失敗後，到廠外堵路抗議，大批警察到場戒備，期間發生衝突，有工人被打傷。

HK Groups Call for Release of Mainland Dissidents for Family Reunion
With the approaching Chinese New Year, four HK civil groups
including Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic
Democratic Movements in China and Amnesty International
Hong Kong held a “New Year Family Reunion” event
downtown on Feb. 7 and 8.
These groups call on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
to release dissidents and allow them to reunite
with their families.
In the meantime, they call for the release of mainland rights
activists who were detained for advocating
the umbrella movement.
Signatures and donations from many HK residents were also
collected during the event to support those imprisoned
prisoners of conscience.
The CCP Seizes Toilet Paper Ridiculing Leung Chun-ying
On Feb. 6, the CCP seized 7,600 rolls of toilet paper
and 20,000 packs of tissue paper printed with various images
of HK chief executive Leung Chun-ying, the Chinese
character “liar” or the CCP emblem.
A member of the HK Democratic Party said they had planned
to sell the confiscated items at a Chinese New Year fair
next week.
The move is to raise funds for movements seeking
general election, said the source.
An AFP report quoted Democratic Party chief executive
Lam Cheuk-ting, who said the products are just a joke
and do not endanger so-called national security.
“I think the CCP government just wants to suppress
all different opinions." said Lam.
Gao Yaojie Wins Conscience Award for Efforts in Revealing Truth About HIV In China
Gao Yaojie, the prestigious Chinese gynecologist
and AIDS activist, received the 2014 Liu Binyan Conscience
Award on Feb. 7 in New York.
The awards committee said Gao was awarded for
“holding one’s conscience, compassionately feeling
others with humanitarianism and maternal love".
In her award-winning speech, Gao stressed again that HIV
in China is mainly transmitted through blood donations
and transfusions, rather than sexual contact;
However, the CCP is still attempting to completely
conceal the truth.
Gao quoted statistics from Prof. Gui Xien at Wuhan
University, which shows the HIV infection rate is as high
as 60 percent for farmers in blood donation,
while the rate is less than 10 percent for any wife or husband
who lives with their infected spouse for five to 10 years.
Gao Yaojie, who is already 88, left China for the U.S.
in 2009 to protect China’s HIV data.
She has lived in Manhattan, New York since 2010.
Thousands of Henan Workers Strike For Higher Wages
On Feb. 7, thousands of workers of Wuyang Iron
and Steel in Pingdengshan City, Henan Province,
went on strike against low salary and demanded
a salary increase.
According to an Epoch Times report, workers blocked the
road in protest after failed negotiation with the company.
A large group of police were dispatched to the site.
Conflicts and injuries to workers were also reported.
