【新唐人2014年10月11日訊】抗議封殺對話 十萬港人再上街

香港和平佔中」行動,10月10號進入第13天,由於港府前一天突然單方面取消了原定在10號與「學聯」的對話,大批市民再次走上街頭,參加當晚學界舉行的,以「政府封殺對話,人民堅守街頭」為主題的集會,並在現場高喊「抗命到底」、「長期留守」、「守護香港」等口號。

據「學民思潮」召集人黃之鋒對外宣佈,參加人數高達10萬人。

黃之鋒呼籲市民當晚留守街頭,拿睡袋、帳篷通宵佔領,讓夏愨道成為「民主大本營」。

很多市民響應號召,在路面搭建帳幕,晚上11點半,留守者張開的帳篷,金鐘一帶大約300個,數以千計市民舖墊席地而坐。

「學聯」秘書長周永康表示,如果港府到本週日仍然拒絕會面的話,將會發起更多行動。

馬英九雙十講話 撐港人爭民主

10月10號,是「中華民國」103週年國慶日。當天,台灣舉行盛大慶祝儀式,台灣總統馬英九在儀式上發表「以民主為傲,以台灣為榮」為題國慶演說,指稱台灣已經成為民主憲政的華人社會典範。

馬英九在演說中,還特別表示了對香港民眾爭取一人一票普選的支持。他借用中共前黨魁鄧小平「讓一部分人先富起來」的名言,呼籲中共「讓香港這一部分人先民主起來」,以實現17年前中共對香港的承諾:「港人治港,高度自治,普選特首,五十年不變」。

馬英九說,如果能這樣,將化危機為轉機,讓大陸和香港雙贏,同時,台灣人民也一定樂觀其成,有利兩岸關係發展。

美報告指北京影響香港自由法治

10月9號,美國國會及行政部門中國問題委員會,發表年度報告指出,過去一年,中國的人權及法治環境沒有改善,部分領域更是倒退。

報告特別提到,北京干預香港事務,將影響香港已經脆弱的自由和法治。報告還表示,對香港的金融信譽和未來的繁榮穩定感到擔憂。

中國問題委員會主席布朗(Herrod Brown),並對香港和平示威的學生表達敬意,稱讚他們在處於形勢不利時,仍不退縮,即使面對催淚彈與胡椒噴霧,也能維持良好秩序,精神令人鼓舞。

00,000 Hong Kongers Rally Against “No Dialogue"

Oct. 10 is the 13th day for Hong Kong's Occupy Central;
a large number of people participated in the rally with
the theme, “People stick to the streets; the government forces
out the dialogue”, as the government unilaterally canceled
the dialogue with the Federation of Students (HKFS).

They shouted slogans such as, “disobedience to the end",
“long-stay", “guard Hong Kong", etc.

Huang Zhifeng announced that
there were 100-thousand participating.

Huang Zhifeng called on the people to stay overnight on the
streets with sleeping bags and tents, making Harcourt Road
a democratic stronghold.

At 23:30, about 300 tents were set up at the Queensway area
and thousands of people sat on floor mats.

Secretary-General of HKFS, Zhou Yongkang says they will
take action if the government doesn't respond by Sunday.

Ma Ying-jeou Backs Hong Kong Democracy, 10/10 Speech

On Oct. 10, the 103rd National Day of the Republic of China,
Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou delivered a speech called,
“proud for democracy; proud for Taiwan".

He says Taiwan has become a model for
constitutional democracy in Chinese society.

In his speech, Ma Ying-jeou particularly expressed support
for Hong Kong's
people in their fight for universal suffrage.

He used former Chinese Communist Party (CCP)leader
Deng Xiaoping's words, “Let some people get rich first"
to call on the CCP to “Let Hong Kong get democracy first"
and achieve the promise from 17 years ago, which was that
Hong Kong's people will rule Hong Kong, with a high level
of autonomy, and universal suffrage remains for 50 years."

Ma said that it will turn crisis into opportunity
to make the mainland and Hong Kong both win.
Taiwan people might be optimistic, which is also good
for the development of cross-strait relations.

American Report—Beijing Interferes in Hong Kong Freedom

Oct. 9—U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China
published an annual report saying that China's human rights
and legal environment has made no improvements in the last
year, and had even worsened in some areas.

The report noted that Beijing's intervention in Hong Kong's
affairs will affect its already fragile freedom and legal affairs.
The report also stated concerns over Hong Kong’s financial
credibility and for its future prosperity and stability.

Chairman of the Commission on China, Herrod Brown
showed respect for Hong Kong's peaceful demonstrators.
Brown praised protesters for maintaining good order
in a disadvantageous situation, like when faced with tear gas
and pepper spray.
