A former CCP Military Officer Cries and Regrets Participating
in the Massacre of 64 Event

Before the 25th Anniversary of 64 Event, Li Xiaoming a former army officer of Shenyang Military Region of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), sat in front of the TV camera and talked about his personal experience of the blood shed oppression of 64 Student Movement, which was initiated by the orders of upper-level authorities. During the discussion of the oppressive process, he shed tears frequently, and said this was his lifetime of shame.

Li was lieutenant of 1164 Flak Regiment of 39th Army of Shenyang Military Region of the CCP. In recent days, he was interviewed by Hong Kong NOW TV and told of his personal experience of shooting and acting under orders.

Mr Xiaoming says, at the time when 39th Army marched from eastern Beijing City to Tian’Anmen Square, they were blocked by civilians and required not to shoot students and civilians. However, on the night of June 3, they were informed that some mobs had killed some of the soldiers. After hearing this news, everyone of them felt extreme anger towards the students. It was at this moment that they received bullets from the upper level authorities, and then ordered to march for Tian’Anmen Square and clean out any elements at any cost.

Mr Li Xiaoming also exposed, how at midnight of June 3, the colonel in charge dispatched someone to monitor the situation at Tian’Anmen Square, finding other armies had started to shoot the students. Then 39th Army entered the Square in the early hours of June 4. They were placed in charge of assisting the police with catching fleeing students and activists of the Democracy Movement.

Despite recalling the experience 25 years ago, Mr Li still could not help from crying out of control, repeating “this is a shame".

The former lecturer of China University of Political Science and Law Wu Renhua:
“On the evening of June 3, the army marched for Tian’Anmen Square shooting and killing people and students. The main cause of this tragedy, is these soldiers were cheated by the authorities’ propaganda. The authorities had placed the students in temporary camps without discussing the situation with them to find out what had really happened.
The authorities repeated their lies that many soldiers of the curfew army have been kidnapped and killed; that many soldiers’ weapons were robbed and a riot was occurring in Beijing. So they took it for granted that an anti-revolution riot was really taking place."

Wu Renhua is a witness of 64 Event and once published a book Curfew Army during the 64 Event. It gives a detailed description on the activities of the curfew army during the 64 Event, including the routes of entering Beijing, what they did after entering Beijing, and what sort of missions they executed on the night of the massacre.

Xie Wenqing is a former Chief Journalist of CCP’s official media Xinhua News Agency. Also an Ex-Deputy Minister of Broadcasting and Television Ministry. Xie apparently also experienced the horrific night of 64 event, of the blood shed and suppression.

Xie Wenqing says in the article “Dead Heart", the destroyed armoured vehicles were uniformly placed. All the armoured cars were heading east, which is similar to an array appearance for a military parade. According to his experience as military journalist, it is easy to identify that this is a deliberately plotted deceitful case.

Xie Wenqing says, these armoured cars were apparently out-of-date equipment , and burned by plain-clothed PLA soldiers. Then the result was framed on “mobs".

It is understood up till now, three army officers publicly announced regret for their role in the bloodshed shooting during 64 Event.

Mr Zhang Shijun, one of the soldiers from the curfew armies, had also participated in the 64 event. For many years he regularly visited the Wang’An Public Cemetery in the Beijing suburbs, where the memorial stone lay commemorating the “64 event victims”. Before 64 Event in 2012, he stood in silent tribute for victims at Tian’Anmen Square by dressing in the military uniform of that time.

Wu Renhua: “Three military soldiers later understood the truth behind 64 event, that the anti-revolution riot in Beijing is a total lie. The people who lost their lives on that fateful day, were civilians and students without weapons, they were not thugs. Once coming to understand the truth, they awoke to the realities, realising the shooting was a total sham."

An organisation created in support of the 64 event Victims’ families, called “Tian’Anmen Mothers", members Zhang Xianling and Mr Wang Fandi say, the CCP authorities still block people from learning the truth.

Wang Fandi: “This year we suffer stricter controls than any other year. Our homes are constantly watched by guards 24 hours a day. Their aim is to block media from interviewing us. This started from Tomb Sweeping’s Day in April. The guards include national security police, local police, local community committee staff and many others. A total of 24 people in shifts are monitoring us 24 hours a day."

On May 28, US Congress passed a decision, and called for CCP Authorities to stop their censorship on relevant information about Tian’Anmen Massacre. And to also stop the harassment, confining and abuse of Chinese citizens who enjoy the rights to freedom of speech and belief.

Nancy Pelosi is the Democratic Party;s leader of Congress. She took out the photo of Chinese citizen Mr Wang Weilin, who stood alone in front of the tank during the 64 event. She said, This is by far the most iconic photo ever witnessed in our times of democracy and freedom. However, if you visit China today and ask any young person what the picture portrays, they have no idea whatsoever what it is about.
