Popular Series Banned For Carrying Anti-Communist Slogans.

Popular Hong Kong TVB series, The Ultimate Addiction,
was suddenly banned in Mainland China.

Even the China video website Youku who has the broadcast
rights didn’t update its site and deleted the sets.

It caused public concern.

Some analysts believe its banned for showing slogans
against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

There was also protection of Falun
Gong in a protest scene.

The Ultimate Addiction is Hong Kong TVB modern series
broadcast in prime time evening.

It uses the stock market intrigues as its main line.

Last year, mainland Youku bought the broadcast rights to
the series following TVB.

However, since June 27, episodes 19 and 20 have not been
updated as scheduled;

Episodes 17 and 18 have been deleted.

There is no exact reason for the ban of The Ultimate
Addiction.

Some netizens guessed the ban reason might because the
series satirized mainland Alibaba Group director Jack Ma
requesting Hong Kong regulatory change to list Alibaba in
Hong Kong.

Some netizens believe the reason might be related to
innuendo on Mainland companies and officials.

Some netizens guessed the ban may be the same as the other
drama, When Heaven Burns, involving sensitive topics.

In 2011, the 10 episode of TVB drama When Heaven Burns,
showed Hong Kong people holding banners in the street.

The banner writing said to completely break up the CCP
and also mentioned June 4.

Hence it was banned by the CCP.

Shenzhen netizen Miss Li said she was following this drama
at Youku until episode 19, when suddenly no more broadcast.

Shenzhen netizen Miss Li ”I do not know what happened.

Someone said it might be related to episode 17,
which contained a flash of a protest scene.

I heard it was adjusted and broadcast after that scene
was removed. I hope to see it soon.”

In episode 17, there is a protest scene alluding to investors’
losses on C-Coin’s depreciation of Bitcoin.

The following banners appeared in the scene “We are
Hong Kong people, we are Chinese people”;

“We love China and Hong Kong but not the CCP”;

“The creation of political reform special area
is to save China”;

Hong Kong political reform model is the Chinese model”;

”Expanding Hong Kong special area to Shenzhen
as the pilot”.

On the Hong Kong TVB website, the anti-communist
banner picture in the show has been deleted.

Hong Kong Ming Pao quoted the words of vice president of
the Communications department Zeng Xingming.

He said ”we already dealt with the drama.”

Zeng Xingming said, “TVB series or programs will meet the
local law to broadcast after it is sold.

If the scene doesn’t meet the law, we will adjust it properly.”

Former literary columnist of Hong Kong United Daily News,
Zhang Chengjue pointed out that many Hong Kong dramas and
foreign dramas pointing towards the CCP’s dark side are
banned in Mainland China.

The CCP’s long-term seal on speech freedom, press
freedom and freedom of thought still holds.

Zhang ChengJue “I think this is a very stupid.

It only exposes the Propaganda Department’s attitude to
restrict the public right to know the truth.”

Hong Kong Democratic party communist director Zhou
Weidong said the truth cannot be hidden.

He believes that this incident exposed the CCP’s major
fear of the truth.

Zhou Weidong ”people won’t know the truth of
how the CCP came to power.

It didn’t let people know they killed a lot of people in the
Tiananmen massacre and cruelly suppress Falun Gong.

They are afraid people know about it.

Once the people know the truth, their whole base
will be unstable and collapse.”

Currently, netizens gathered to talk about it on video websites
or spoke on the star of this drama, Bosco’s microblog.

Many netizens said they had not noticed the scene of
anti-communist protest but they know about it now.
