Netizens Doubt 80,000 Party Members Took 800 Million Yuan in Bribes Over 2 Years

On Oct. 22, China Discipline Commission announced that,
over the past 2 years, 80,000 Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
members handed in 800 million Yuan ($121million) from
bribe-taking.
Since the news was released, it aroused netizens concern.

On the Tencent website, there was over 40,000 comments
regarding the news.

Many netizens believe that Discipline Commission
isn’t being honest.
80,000 members handed in 800 million Yuan (($121million),
which is 10,000 Yuan for each member.
However, in China, even a village party secretary
can embezzle over 10,000 Yuan (USD $1600) a year.

Some netizens joked, saying the matter needs further
investigation.
800 million Yuan would take only a few members to fulfill,
even one can reach it, not necessary 80,000 members.

Chinese Film to Screen in Tokyo International Festival Despite Political Conflict

have revealed that the Chinese film, Feng Shui,
which was pulled from the festival due to the
Diaoyu Islands disputes, will still screen.

Japanese Kyodo News cited Masayoshi Sakai,
secretary-General of TIFF organization that
“not screening the film, means we allow the politics
to intervene in the culture exchange of the festival, we shouldn’t let it happen.”

On Oct. 18, the director of Feng Shui announced the
withdrawl from the festival in Beijing.
However, Xie Fei, Feng Shui’s art consultant,
