Before the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) National Day,
media reported that Mao Zedong’s red book,
is likely to be republished & selling on the market
by end of this year.
It triggered public condemnation that history would
be heading in a backwards direction.
On October 1, the CCP mouthpiece media claimed
that it is just a rumor.
What is the political motivation behind this?
Let’s take a look.

Recently, CCP’s mainstream media had repeatedly reported,
the new version of Mao Zedong’s quotation book
will be available in December.

Sources say Chen Yuhuan, chief editor of the book,
reportedly told media it took 20 team members two years
to finish the book.

Each book will cost 2,000 yuan ($327) to buy.

On Oct. 1, Xinhua News reported, after contacting related
departments, it has been confirmed the news is purely a rumor.

However, untill Oct. 3, the news was still being spread
right across the Internet.

Hong Kong writer Zhang Chengjue: “December 26 is
Mao Zedong’s 120th birthday.
The initial plan is to publish his book for this birthday.
It is to highlight Mao & has propaganda purposes.
Maybe the regime were watching the people’s
reaction upon hearing the news.

It would bring great public anger towards Mao’s
perverse acts & flagrant crimes."

Zhang speculates the CCP denies it first,
followed by the tactic of “just act, don’t speak", then
publishing it quietly when the time is right.
By using this type of method, they suspect it will cause
less public outrage.

Hua Po, Beijing current affairs observer: “Regarding Mao’s
quotations book, it is leftists’ conjecture within CCP system.
They wanted to go back to old history, it is impossible.
Let alone publish this book.
If Mao’s corpse were alive today,
it is still impossible to go back to his era."

Mao ruled over China for 27 years, having brought
Chinese people great disasters.
Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party points out that
since 1949, the CCP has persecuted more than half
the people in China.

An estimated 60 to 80 million people have died
from unnatural causes since the CCP began.
This number of deaths exceeds the total numbers in
both World Wars combined.

Mao launched 10-years of a cruel Cultural Revolution,
which brought disasters to the Chinese people,
it is too many to mention.

Even the current CCP leader Xi Jinping’s family,
have suffered at the hands of CCP.
During The Cultural Revolution, Xi’s father Xi Zhongxun,
had been jailed for 16 years by Mao for the accusation
of “using a novel against the CCP".

In Xi Jinping’s childhood, he faced discrimination &
being subject to class struggle sessions
during The Cultural Revolution.

According to the released files of Anti-Rightist Movement,
Mao started a persecution of intellectuals in 1957.
Not 500,000, but actually 30 million intellectuals
had been labeled as rightists.

Since Xi Jinping took office, he was considered a soft
touch, when compared to Mao.

Hua Po: “Xi Jinping deliberately roped
leftists under his banner.
He follows the CCP’s saying 'neither negates the past
30 years, nor criticises a further 30 years.'
It is likely to show his favouritism to the leftists,
in order to gain their support on Xi’s China Dream."

Hua Po analyses howthe leftists didn’t accept Xi,
thus Xi told the leftists clearly that it was impossible
to republish Mao’s quotation book.

Sun Wenguang, Former professor of Shandong University:
“I think if the CCP treats Mao with an objective attitude,
Mao’s whole works should be published by now.

To bind all Mao’s speeches and articles together as a whole
for people to criticise & discuss what sort of a man
he really was.
Then we can see how to judge him according
to the past history."

Mao’s quotations were full of struggle
and violent philosophy.
For example, “With 800 million people, how can it work
without struggle?" “After the chaos the world reaches peace,
but in seven or eight years, the chaos needs to happen again."

“What can Emperor Qin Shihuang brag about?
He only killed 460 Confucian scholars,
but we killed 46,000 intellectuals."

The US’s, The Daily Beast online magazine, ranked the world’s
top 13 most brutal dictators over the past century.
Mao Zedong was ranked as number one,
the number of people he killed had exceeded Stalin and Hitler.
He was a mass genocidal murderer.
