中共前政治局常委、政法委書記周永康被軟禁的消息,最近在網路上熱傳,12月11號西方主流媒體《路透社》也發出相關報導說,據多位接近中共高層的消息人士透露,周永康已經因為貪腐的罪名被軟禁。

報導援引一位消息人士的話說:「周永康的自由受到限制,行動受到監控。現在不得離開家,也不能會見客人。」

《路透社》說,中共總書記習近平11月下旬或12月初下令組成專案組,調查對周永康提出的各項指控。

消息人士說,周永康目前正因違反黨紀而接受調查。但他們沒有透露調查的具體內容。

另一名消息人士說,中共總書記「習近平已經將周永康這只老虎的牙齒全給拔了」,這就是說,周永康的「黨羽」和親信都遭到整肅:其中包括五個月前被「下課」的國資委主任蔣潔敏。當時,官方媒體說蔣潔敏嚴重違反黨紀。

消息人士說:「周永康已經是一只沒有牙齒的老虎,跟死老虎沒甚麼兩樣。現在的問題是,習近平是否會把他送交司法審判,剝了這只老虎的皮。」

報導說,周永康被調查,是中共1949年建政以來因為貪腐而遭到清查的最高級別官員。

報導十歲女童摔嬰 重慶媒體被罰

《重慶電視臺》最近報導當地一名十歲女孩,將一歲半幼兒從25層樓摔下的慘劇,引發中國網路輿論有關兒童心理健康、和家庭教育等多個話題的熱烈討論。但相關報導引起了重慶官方的不滿,認為「有辱重慶名聲」,破壞重慶形象。

《重慶電視臺》 「天天630新聞」欄目的兩位負責人,目前已經被停職,《重慶衛視》副總丁道誼被責令做書面檢查;而《重慶晚報》也因為跟進相關報導受到處罰。

據《法國國際廣播電臺》報導,當地媒體人士傳出的消息說,這一處分的起因是重慶市委書記孫政才對報導不滿,但處分本身是由中共重慶市委宣傳部做出的。

廣西貴港強拆引發警民衝突

12月10號,廣西貴港爆發警民衝突事件,近千名村民用磚頭迎戰警察的催淚彈,雙方都有損傷。

據海外《中國茉莉花革命》網站報導,貴港市政府10號出動數百名警察和多輛挖掘機,前往港南區南江村強拆,手持盾牌、警棍、全副武裝的警察,與近千名村民發生衝突。警方施放多枚催淚彈、煙霧彈,村民則丟擲磚頭、石塊還擊,現場一片混亂。多名村民被打傷和被捕,也有警察受傷。

據報導,當地政府為修建「同濟大橋」、「園博園」而徵用南江村土地,但由於賠償過低,引起村民不滿。政府不僅不與村民協商,還強制拆遷住戶,導致事件惡化。

10號晚上,當地仍有村民堵路抗議,並與大批警察對峙。

Reuters: Zhou Yongkang, Former Security Chief
Under House Arrest

Zhou Yongkang former member of the Chinese Communist
Party (CCP) Politburo Standing Committee and Secretary
of Politics and Law Committee, is apparently under house
arrest according to comments on the Internet recently.
Reuters reported on December 11 that several sources
indicating Zhou Yongkang has been put under virtual house
arrest on accusations of corruption against him.

“Zhou Yongkang’s freedom has been restricted. His movements
have been monitored," one source said, adding that he cannot
leave his Beijing home or receive guests without prior approval,
said Reuters.

Reuters was told by sources with ties to the leadership that
Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered a special task force
formed in late November or early December to look into
several accusations brought against Zhou by political rivals.

The sources said that Zhou is being investigated for violating
party discipline, but did not say on what specific allegations.

A second source said, “Xi has pulled out all the tiger’s teeth,"
referring to the downfall of Zhou’s men, including Jiang
Jiemin, who was the top regulator of state-owned enterprises
for just five months until September 2013.
State media said he was put under investigation for
“serious discipline violations".

Reuters quoted, “Zhou Yongkang is a toothless tiger and
tantamount to a dead tiger.
The question is: will Xi skin the tiger?"
the source said, referring to a trial.

It is reported that Zhou is the most senior official to be
ensnared in a corruption scandal since the Communists
came to power in 1949.

Media Punished for Reporting That A 10 Year-old Girl
Dropped A Toddler

Chongqing TV recently reported a tragedy with a 10 year-old
local girl dropped a 1.5 years old toddler from the 25th floor.
This news immediately sparked intense discussion on the
Internet about children’s mental health and family education.
However, local officials believed this news is humiliating to
Chongqing and has an adverse effect on the reputation of
Chongqing.

Two correspondents of the program in Chongqing Television
have now been suspended.
Deputy director of Chongqing TV, Ding Daoyi, was ordered
to make a written self-critique.
The Chongqing Evening News was also punished for
follow-up reports.

According to Radio France Internationale, sources from local
media revealed that Chongqing party secretary Sun Zhengcai
was unhappy about the report and the punishment was issued
by Chongqing Propaganda Department.

Riots over Forced Demolitions in Guigang, Guangxi

On December 10, clashes broke out in Guigang.

Nearly a thousand villagers threw bricks at the police who
used tear gas. Many injuries happened on both sides.

According to overseas Chinese Jasmine Revolution report,
Guigang government sent hundreds of police officers and
excavators to conduct forced demolition in Nangjiang village.

The police were heavily armed with shields and batons. In the
clash, the police cast rounds of tear gas, and smoke bombs.
The villagers threw bricks and stones. In the chaos, a number
of villagers were injured and arrested.
Police officers were injured as well.

According to the report, the local government appropriated
the land in Nangjiang village for the construction of a bridge
and a garden expo.

The villagers were unhappy with the low compensation.
Instead of negotiating with the villagers, the government
conducted forced relocation and thus further intensified
the conflict.

In the evening of the 10th, the local villagers continued the
protest by blocking the road.
The confrontation with the police has continued.
