The Uyghurs in Hotan of South Xinjiang
had a violent conflict with the local police on July 18,
and gun shots were fired.

More than 20 people are said to have died.

It is the largest conflict with casualties in Xinjian
after the Urumchi “July 5 Incident” in 2009.
Triggered by the overspreading ethnic hatred,
Xinjiang is said to be in a process of “Palestinization.”

Hotan of Xinjiang is under martial law due to
the conflict between the police and civilians.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claimed that
religious extremists attacked a police station.
The CCP is hunting the Uyghurs involved
in the conflict on a large scale.
The overseas World Uyghur Congress said that
the conflict was triggered by the police shooting
at some peaceful demonstrators.

Dilxat Raxit (World Uyghur Congress spokesman):

The armed police opened fire and killed 20 Uyghurs,
injured 12 and severely injured three.
Among the wounded, there were four females
and an 11-year-old child.
70 people were detained by last night,
and the crackdown and info blockage are ongoing.

Dilxat Raxit said the cause of the conflict
was the demonstration on the morning of July 18.
Over 100 Uyghurs took to the streets,
protesting against the CCP’s control over their religion
and illegal acquisition of their lands.

They also requested the CCP to announce the missing people’s
whereabouts after the “July 5 Incident” at Urumchi in 2009.
Their peaceful demonstration triggered the CCP’s crackdown.

Dilxat Raxit thinks that
the CCP is responsible for the violent conflict,
as the peaceful demonstration evolved into a conflict
after the CCP’s brutal suppression.
He reminded Beijing that
a crackdown can only lead to a worse situation.

Dilxat Raxit: The government is responsible for the conflict,
because its violent suppression led to the conflict.
It shouldn’t accuse (the Uyghurs) as terrorists or mobsters.

Besides, Beijing shall learn from this incident.

Should such systematic crackdown continues,
the situation can only get worse.

Dilxat Raxit confirmed that the CCP
had dispatched more armed forces to Hotan.
People entering and leaving Hotan are examined.

All the online Uyghur forums were forcefully shut down,
to prevent information from leaking out.

Even so, he noted, signs of escalation were evident.

He said a number of flyers asking for the release of
the detained appeared in Hotan and other places.

Dilxat Raxit suggests that the conflict between
the Uyghurs and the Han ethnicity was planned by the CCP
to divert people’s attention from its own problems.

Dilxat Raxit: Beijing transformed political problems
into a conflict between the ethnicities,
to shift its own problems.

It’s a trick CCP has always used and still uses.

Dilxat Raxit hopes that the ethnic Han Chinese,
who are also victims of human right abuse,
to understand the Uyghurs.

Only so can they not be used by the CCP
to defame the Uyghurs.

Dilxat Raxit: we appeal to the Chinese people to
truly understand the Uyghur history and culture,
as well as our customs and religion,
and truly understand our political pursuits.

However, independent Chinese writer and
ethnic problem specialist Wang Lixiong, wrote in his book
“My West China; Your East Turkestan” that
in Palestinian riots, children are always seen.
He regards the promotion of nationalism
and the extension of ethnic hatred as “Palestinization.”
He said that Xinjiang is in the process of Palestinization.
