Where Will Zhou Yongkang’s Case End?

Charges against Zhou Yongkang, former member of the Politburo
Standing Committee have officially been publicized.
He was expelled from the party and formally arrested.

Other than where Zhou and his family will end in the
investigation, the Big Tiger and the Old Tiger behind him
are of more concern.

Please follow our report.

After 129 days of silence, Xinhua News Agency finally brought
the focus back to Zhou Yongkang on the morning of Dec. 6.
The news release stated that the Central Commission for
Discipline Inspection had an investigation report on the
serious violations by Zhou YongKang.

Accordingly, the Politburo approved the report and decided
to expel Zhou from the party and transfer the investigation
and evidence to the judicial organs.

Reportedly, Zhou Yongkang has seriously violated
“political, organizational, and confidential discipline";
“used his position to facilitate illegal profit,
accepted bribes directly or through family members “;
“abused power to assist businesses of relatives, mistresses,
and friends in gaining huge profits “;
“leaked party and state secrets";
“accepted huge properties for self and others";
“engaged in adultery and sex trade."

The investigation also found clues to Zhou Yongkang engaging
in “other suspected criminal acts."

The release stated that the decision to investigate was on
Dec. 1, 2013, the decision to file the case was on July 29, 2014.

Chinese social problems researcher Zhang Jian believes that
this is the final result of internal fights.
To announce at this time point is believed to have
the least impact.

Zhang Jian: “The CCP could have finally reached a consensus
on Zhou’s case. They have finally had a clear idea about the
investigation and trial of Zhou."

In fact, Zhou Yongkang became the first Politburo member
to be tried since the 1980 trial of the “Gang of Four".
Therefore, the trial and sentence Zhou will receive
is very much of public interest.

Many enthusiastic reports on Zhou Yongkang have
followed Xinhua and People’s Daily in China.
Some Weibo comment functions have been shut down.

Reports from the international media have been varied,
ranging from Zhou’s leaking state secrets, accepting huge
bribes, having mistresses, the transparency of the Communist
media report, and the sentencing.
There are legal experts indicating that the six counts of Zhou
Yongkang’s crime released on the media are far more serious
than Bo Xilai’s.

He is likely to get a death sentence, a reprieve would be lucky.

But Zhang Jian believes that the CCP might not hold a public
hearing on the grounds of “involving state secrets",
since the public hearing might fully expose the ugliness
and evilness of the CCP to the world.

Zhang Jian: “Zhou Yongkang is involved in too many illegal acts,
including crimes against humanity such as live organ
harvesting, and the attempted coup.

Much speculation has been going on in mainland too.

It is frightening to the CCP because Zhou’s crimes can’t be
fully publicized for one, and all sorts of disputes and
comments would get exposed for another."

Zhang Jian points out that Zhou became Xi Jinping’s tiger
because Zhou Yongkang engaged in the coup attempt which
was more serious than the corruption.

That’s why Xi Jinping has had a unprecedented cleansing
of Zhou’s allies in the local government, the political
and legal system, the military, and anything that involves Zhou.

Zhang Jian also indicates that the real challenge to Xi Jinping
is the “real" tigers behind Zhou Yongkang.
They are Zeng Qinghong, Jiang Zemin and the like.

Mainland politics commentator Chen Minghui believes
that currently Xi Jinping and the Jiang faction have just reached
a strategic and temporary balance and compromise.

The end will be life and death, and there is no other option.

Chen Minghui: “In fact, it is irreconcilable between the tiger
and the tiger-fighter. It is simply life and death.
No one would dare to halt first.
Who halts first will be killed by the other right away."

Just a couple of days before the release on Zhou Yongkang’s
arrest, Jiang Zemin, the one who highly promoted Zhou Yongkang,
had a “high-profile" public appearance on the media.

It was about Jiang’s activity during Oct. 1
at the National Museum.
However, this news was delayed for two months.

Dr. Ye Ke, in public policy, commented that this signals
Jiang Zemin’s activity is very restricted.
