Facebook

Cyber Crackdown On June 4 Anniversary Forums

A social network meeting to commemorate the 25th

Anniversary of June 4 Massacre experienced an unprecedented

cyber attack.

The Internet conference room was interfered and multiple

backup conference rooms were also attacked.

The web servers were down and the live broadcast websites

were also down.

The entire activities were seriously jeopardized.

Organizers explain the meeting’s theme as “Down the CCP”

and believed the Communist regime conducted the attack.

As part of the World Siege movement to commemorate the

25th anniversary of June 4 Massacre, a global online meeting

was organized with dozens of non-governmental organizations

from the United States, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan,

mainland China and other places.

Scheduled at 8 AM of May 31 (Beijing), the meeting room at

Paltalk was jammed with a large number of unregistered visitors

who were suspected supporters of the CCP propaganda

and the national security agencies.

Speakers were consequently restricted from entering the

conference room.

Some activists were unknowingly ‘kicked out’ of the

conference room.

Many participants’ computers experienced Trojan virus attack.

Even the backup conference rooms were also packed with

hundreds of unknown ‘visitors’.

The online forum was thus seriously interrupted.

Later, Paltalk web servers were completely down and no one

was able to login.

The organizers had to switch to mobile instant messaging

WeChat for a temporary meeting.

The organizer, also Chairman of the Federation for a Democratic

China Sheng Xue indicates that the online meeting

proposed to speak out for the general public to condemn the

CCP, the source of disaster in China.

She believes the cyber attack of this forum was conducted by

the CCP for fear of the meeting’s success.

Sheng Xue, Chairman of the Federation for a Democratic China:

“They fear the spread of the truth, not just about the June 4

Massacre.

There are many of them, including the June 4 Massacre,

the persecution of Falun Gong, and the persecution of others,

such as religions.

They will spare no effort to attack and block."

Sheng Xue notes that attacks on the online activities of

activists have been seen before, but none on a scale like this

time.

The forum host and speakers IDs were stolen, speakers were

blocked by unknown visitors, and the chat service Paltalk

was also attacked.

Sheng Xue: “Almost all of us who participate online

to promote democracy, human rights and the truth have

experienced cyber attack from the CCP.

This time is the most severe case."

This cyber attack is very thorough: The e-mail of the forum

received more than 8,000 junk mails; computers of activists in

Germany Shi Haiming and Pan Yongzhong were completely

down due to viral attack; numerous netizens’ posts on Weibo

and WeChat had survived as short as one minute, many

netizens’ accounts were also closed.

In addition, multiple fake online posts were released such as

new conference addresses, a changed forum schedule and

rumors that the organizers died of a car accident.

In fact, the CCP has particularly shown their ‘concern’ over

the participants of the Anniversary.

On May 3, a number of citizens called for an investigation of

the historical truth of June 4 incident during a Beijing forum

on the Tiananmen Massacre.

All participants were then summoned by the police.

Subsequently, famous human rights attorney Pu Zhiqiang,

Chinese Academy of Social Sciences researcher Xu Youyu,

Beijing Film Academy professor Hao Jian, writer Liu Di and

dissident Hu Shigen were detained on the crime of provocation.

Sheng Xue explains that the CCP’s tough preventive measures

were strengthened only because it is aware of its precarious

rule.

The new round of outrageous persecution will only bring more

attention to the June 4 Massacre and further spread the

discussion and reflections on the truth.

Sheng Xue: " Anger has reached an explosive level.

Society is filled with endless violence.

The CCP officials are entirely a gang of robbers."

Sheng Xue indicates that the CCP’s suppressive rule has

completely blocked its own way in and out.

In fact, the Chinese can no longer accept the continuing rule

of such an oppressive, inhuman, inhumane and illegal regime.
