Exposing Jiang’s Crimes, Scholars Heavily Sentenced

It is confirmed that three history’ scholars in China
were given severe sentences in May, 2011.
They were charged with crime of “subverting state power."

In 2000-2010, these scholars wrote articles revealing crimes
of Jiang Zemin, Chinese Communist Party’ (CCP) ex-leader.
Their exposure contributed greatly in compelling Jiang
to retire as a head of the CCP.

The recent release of Yu Junyi, wife of Lu Jiaping,
helped confirm Lu’s suffering.
Lu was sentenced to 10-years jail term in May 2011,
charged with “inciting subversion of state power."
Jin an-di and Yu Junyi were handed eight and three years
in prison, respectively.

The CCP court verdict imposed the penalties on the basis
of three articles of the three scholars.
The judgment claimed that these articles
“attempted to subvert state power and the socialist system.”

Yet they said the three articles were written many years ago.

Jiang Tianyong (human rights lawyer): “His talks about
state affairs reflected his sense of duty as a citizen.
The Constitution says freedom of speech is citizens’ rights.

The state should guarantee citizens’ freedom of speech,
rather than assigning crime culpability on citizens.
Chinese citizens are easily charged by the regime
with the crime of ‘inciting subversion’ .”

The secret penalty imposed on the three scholars
is a practice against the rule of law, lawyer Jiang reviews.
Moreover, the verdict presents inconsistence,
and it is full of loopholes, he says.

The main evidence of the sentencing is based on an article
of Lu Jiaping – “Two Traitors, Two Fakes.”
The article was written in 2009, exposing the true historical
background of Jiang Zemin.

Two Traitors refers to both Jiang and his biological father.
The latter was a national traitor in the Japan-China War.
Jiang himself was former KGB spy, who gave away
large territory of China to the Soviet Union.
Two Fakes—the first fake, Jiang posed himself as an
underground CCP member before 1949.
The second fake was Jiang’s claim to be the adopted son
of Jiang Shangqing, a CCP’s “martyr."

At that time, Lu Jiaping disclosed that the article was
acquiesced by Hu Jintao before being spread to the public.

In October 2002, Lu Jiaping wrote an article to the CCP
central committee (CC) – “Please vote for Hu Jintao.”
The article revealed that Jiang Zemin aimed to remain
CCP’s general secretary.
In March 2003, Lu disclosed Jiang’s historical background
in his letter to the CCP’s central committee.
The article was entitled “Issues of Jiang Zemin’s history
and time of joining the party should be investigated."
In April 2004, Lu wrote another letter to CCP’s CC, exposing
the sex scandal between Jiang Zemin and Song Zuying.

In August 2010, Lu made public his article, “New proof
on Jiang Zemin’s fake underground CCP membership.”
“This evidence is the greatest one over the past eight years.
It is the most direct evidence for giving a verdict on Jiang,” said at that time Lu to a reporter.
Yet, local police started to monitored Lu soon after,
and he had disappeared since.

Over the years, Lu Jiaping seems to play a role in helping
Hu Jintao hold the position of CCP general secretary.

Prof. Zhang Zanning (Southeastern University):
“He exposed Jiang Zemin’s two traitors and two fakes, I think this is the real reason."

Jiang Tianyong feels helplessness for Chinese like Lu,
who were repressed for their thinking and sense of justice.
In today’s China, the judiciary is just a persecution tool, and
do not really maintain social fairness and justice, Jiang says.

Jiang Tianyong: “As he accused someone of something,
the state should investigate to find out the truth.
It shouldn’t capture and persecute the person
for his exposure of the problems, instead."

In April 2011, People’s Daily and Xinhuanet.com, CCP’s
mouthpieces, issued Jiang Zemin’s articles in high profiles.
Jing’s articles mourned the centenary of the birth
of his “adopted father,” Jiang Shangqing.
At that time, some speculated that Hu Jintao might
burn bridges and sacrifice Lu Jiaping.
As expected, Lu and the other two
were heavily sentenced soon after.
