CCP State Media Censors Li Keqiang Anti-terrorism Talks with Pakistan

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with
Pakistan military leaders during his official visit.
Li urged both countries to work together against terrorism.

However, Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP)
state controlled media Xinhua News Agency
amended Li’s remarks twice after publication.
Eventually, this content on anti-terrorism was deleted.

Why is that? Who made this
decision? Let’s take a look.

Xinhua News Agency’s original report cited

Li Keqiang’s remarks during his meeting with
Pakistan’s Army, Naval and Air Force chief.
Li said that China supports Pakistan’s strategy of
anti-terrorism, but two hours later, Xinhua revised this news.
It deleted Li’s words related to anti-terrorism.

In addition, content about by Pakistan’s military
leaders discussing anti-terrorism was also deleted.

Wu Fan, Political Commentator:
“Li Keqiang visited Pakistan.
Pakistan’s military leaders talked about Pakistan and
China’s cooperation in counter-terrorism strategies.
Their remarks were published in India and
on foreign media, but Xinhua deleted them.
Why was this deleted? Who requested their deletion?
I guess this must have been China’s Propaganda Ministry.”

Hong Kong’s media reported that Pakistan is
the headquarters of trans-national terrorism.
Under Al-Qaeda’s support, Xinjiang independent
activists established a training compound there.
Several terrorist attacks that have taken place
in Xinjiang were connected with Pakistan.
Media in India reported that when Li Keqiang
visited Islamabad, Pakistan cut off local
and nearby cities’ mobile phone signals.
Pakistan officials explained that terrorists often
use mobile phones to carry out the attacks.

Wen Zhao, Current Affairs Commentator: “Pakistan’s
religious fundamentalism forces are relatively strong.
This is especially the case in the border areas.

There are indeed some Pakistani Islamic forces
that have entered into Xinjiang Province in China.
They came to support Xinjiang independent movements.

The purpose of Sino-Pakistan anti-terrorism is
to let the Pakistan government prevent Islamic
fundamentalist forces from going inside China.”

However, why did the CCP media delete
the content of anti-terrorism cooperation?

Wen Zhao: “The CCP uses anti-terrorism
as an excuse to suppress human rights.
This problem has been recognized
by several countries in the world.
Western countries, including the US, have gradually
become clearer about the CCP’s behavior in Xinjiang.
They couldn’t accept the CCP’s actions.

Thus the CCP deleted this content. I think
that it may be to avoid international attention.”

Wu Fan believes that the US is also cooperating
with Pakistan in combating terrorism.
However, the US is currently in
conflict with the Afghanistan Taliban.
The CCP’s focus is the Xinjiang area.
The CCP is afraid of an international misunderstanding,
in that China will become involved in counter-terrorism
efforts in Pakistan. So the CCP deleted Li’s remarks.

Wu Fan: “Xi Jinping will visit the US soon. He
may talk about anti-terrorism issues with Obama.
He may talk about Pakistan’s role, as
there are different terrorists in Pakistan.
Should China cooperate with the US, and
to ask the US help to combat terrorism?
Or will Xi ask the US to help China fight
against Xinjiang independent activists?
We are not clear about this issue, but
there will be someone asking the question.”

Wen Zhao: “Now the CCP faces many headache problems.

These include US cyber attacks, as well as
East and South China Sea territorial disputes.
The CCP doesn’t want a high-profile Xinjiang’s
issue, and neither wants to create more topics.
Thus, the CCP deleted the content.”

Wen Zhao said that the Xinjiang issue is a matter
of human rights violations of an ethnic minority.
The Chinese regime discriminates ethnic groups,
and the CCP created many complicated problems.
The first is that ethnic groups were suppressed politically.

The second is that minority cultural customs,
religious beliefs and culture are damaged.
Their culture is facing a danger of extinction.

Thirdly, ethnic groups are marginalized economically.
