Facebook

The Whole World Support Hong Kong People’s

Universal Suffrage Struggle

The denial of the Hong Kong chief executive democratic

election from the Chinese Communist Party Standing

Committee triggered strong protests in Hong Kong and

attracted global attention and solidarity.

In addition to the nongovernment organizations’ support from

US, Canada and Taiwan.

September 2, US and Taiwan governments also voiced to

support real universal suffrage in Hong Kong.

The Chinese authorities ignored the Hong Kong people’s wish

and made a new decision on Hong Kong political reform

among the standing committee members on the 31st August.

They denied citizen nomination and required that the

Chief Executive candidate must be supported by a majority

of the nomination committee to run a Chief Executive election.

It triggered strong indignation in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Central Occupy organization announced to enter

a disobedience era from that evening on for Hong Kong people.

They will launch wave after wave of protests including strikes,

marches and so on.

The Hong Kong Federation expected 8000 students will

participate in the strike in September.

54 teachers in Hong Kong and Macau academy also jointly

issued an open letter to express their extreme disappointment

and indignation of the decision of the Chief Executive election

decided by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Congress.

Meanwhile, many nongovernment and government organizations

publicly support Hong Kong people’s protests against the

forcing-out the CCPs real universal suffrage proposal.

September 2, the State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki:

the United States supports universal suffrage in Hong Kong in

accordance with the Basic Law and the aspirations of

the Hong Kong people.

The same day, Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou also publicly

announced to support Hong Kong people’s democracy pursuit.

Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party Chairman Tsai Ing-wen

posted in facebook in solidarity with the

Hong Kong Central Occupy fight.

In addition, nearly 20 Taiwan non-governmental organizations

also jointly signed a statement to support Hong Kong.

Taiwan New School For Democracy chairman Wang Dan said

it’s rogue practice for Beijing authorities to renege on the

promise of universal suffrage in Hong Kong.

He believes Hong Kong and Taiwan are interdependent.

He calls on everyone in Taiwan to support Hong Kong together.

Wang Dan: Now we see two political powers: one is

an anti-democratic movement with the core of CCP;

The other is a democratic movement from cross – strait four places.

The two forces collided in Hong Kong making

Hong Kong an outpost.

Taiwan will be in crisis if Hong Kong falls.

September 1, over ten overseas pro-democracy organizations

in US and Canada also issued an open letter.

The open letter requested the US and Canadian Governments

to urge Beijing to keep the promise of one country two systems

and respect the Hong Kong constitutional and Basic Law.

August 31, International human rights organization Civil Force

also issued a statement in Washington in support of solidarity

with Hong Kong Central Occupy and to condemn the Chinese

authorities’ treachery again.

Civil Force President Yang Jianli: We will launch a series of

activities according to Hong Kong’s political development.

We prepare to mobilize the international community and the

mainland citizens to join in the solidarity of

Hong Kong democrats.

Mainland activist poet Wang Zang said he and his friends all

support the Hong Kong’s Central Occupy to fight for

democracy and law.

He believes that this is related to the mainland political

atmosphere, supporting Hong Kong is also in the fight for our

own human rights.

Wang Zang: I never underestimate the CCP’s evil, and they

might suppress using the same way in the June 4th massacre.

Its evil nature shows that they decided to eat up Hong Kong,

and Taiwan also in the future.

So I believe all people from Hong Kong, Taiwan, as well as

mainland should jointly act against the same adversary.

No matter if there is hope or not, we should continue to fight.

September 2, one Hong Kong peaceful Central Occupy

sponsor Daiyao Ting reiterated that Hong Kong people will

never resign, give up or back off on the road to democracy.

They will use Central Occupy to act against the

People’s Congress decision of political reform, to wake up

the people and to continue on the civil disobedience spirit.
