Bo Gua Gua’s Disappearance Draws Speculation.

Since the communist authorities started the investigation
of Bo Xilai and his wife, their son Bo Gua Gua,
who attends university here in the U.S.,
has been the focus of media pursuit.
Speculation as to Bo Gua Gua’s whereabouts
have been rampant lately.
Some believe he has gone back to China, some believe that
he has been detained at the Chinese Consulate,
and information gained from Beijing claims that
he is currently protected by the authorities in China.
However, Mark Toner, a State Department spokesman said
that Bo Gua Gua is still at Harvard.
Other speculations say that Bo Gua Gua is in New York
attempting to dispose of Bo’s overseas accounts and assets
in an attempt to destroy any relevant evidence
before the investigation starts.

On April 19th, a source from Beijing told Hong Kong’s
Apple Daily that Bo Gua Gua is currently being investigated
in Mainland China and cannot return to the U.S. to
attend his graduation ceremony.

However, on April 18th, Mark Toner reported that the
U.S. government had investigated Bo Gua Gua,
but that he was not detained, and that he is still at Harvard.

On April 12th, Apple Daily reported that Bo Gua Gua lives
in a luxury 7 floor apartment building in Massachusetts.
Rumors have been reported that he has applied for asylum
via the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
giving the reason of fear of possible assassination
by his father’s political opponents in China,
but the rumor has not been confirmed by U.S. officials.

According to CCP announcements, Gu Kailai and Bo Gua Gua
were on good terms with British businessman Neil Heywood,
but that there were conflicts over money issues,
it is possible that the investigation of Neil Heywood’s murder shall require Bo Gua Gua’s help.

Mainland Chinese lawyer Li Tian Tian said:
“He can at least be a witness.
The mafia is looking for him, the CCP is looking for him,
it must be that [they are] trying to pull some confession out of him [once they get a hold of him].
It is similar to when Wang Lijun and Bo Xilai had control
over Wen Qiang’s son.
(Bo Gua Gua) could even be used as a bargaining chip.”

Wall Street Journal reported on April 16th that Bo Gua Gua
left his apartment near Harvard University while escorted by private security guards.
Other media report says that these security guards may
have been FBI agents, but the U.S. government has denied any knowledge of this.

A U.K. Newspaper, The Times claims to have
received an email from Bo Gua Gua.
Apparently he is focusing on preparation for his final exams.

Apple Daily’s reports on April 19th said that many reporters have
searched for Bo Gua Gua at Harvard and at his apartment.
Quite a few Chinese restaurants have even received phone calls
and have given interviews with various media.

Chinese Lawyer Li Tian Tian believes that
this is a reflection of the CCP’s cruelty.
He thinks that Bo Gua Gua is not attempting to hide from
the public, but that he fears physical threat from the Chinese Communist Party.

Li Tian Tian: “In order to take the initiative in the investigation,
there is no doubt that the CCP wants to control Bo Gua Gua.
I think that must be their goal, because they don’t know what
kind of evidence and what materials Bo Gua Gua can obtain.
When Bo Xilai and Wang LiJun were trying to take
Wen Qiang down,
his son returned back to China and walked right into a trap,
as a result he was controlled by them (Bo and Wang).
[I think] that Bo Gua Gua will have learned from Wen Qiang’s
son’s experience, and will avoid being controlled.”

Now 24 years old, Bo Gua Gua studied abroad in England
at the age of 11 and studied at the prestigious private Harrow School and Oxford University.
Some medias have reported that due to his poor grades,
he then switched to studying Public Policy at Harvard.
No comments were made by Harvard administrators
concerning the $90,000 per year tuition and living expenses.
His luxurious and playboy lifestyle are criticized by some.

The New York Times published an article on April 16th titled
“Son’s Parties and Privilege Aggravate Fall of Elite Chinese Family”

Tang Baiqiao, the chairman of China Peaceful Democracy
United has been following the CCP’s infighting closely.

Tang says: “Because Bo Gua Gua has been raised by Gu Kailai,
he is completely a princeling, he has thoroughly enjoyed all of Bo Xilai’s special privileges,
and he is arrogant about the fact that he has received
an education from the best private schools.”

On the 19th, the China Times reported that Bo Gua Gua
had left Boston and had headed to New York
to meet with a friend in order to discuss the possibility of
relocating and destroying evidence before the investigation starts.
In order to dodge both the Chinese and American sides.

Reportedly, the Bo family has huge amounts of assets outside
China, and a majority of them have been moved to the U.S.
