Reporting on the Killing of Fleeing Soldiers from Jilin City is Forbidden, Arousing More Curiosity.

On Nov 9th, four Chinese soldiers from
Jilin City deserted the army.
They were intercepted in Liaoning Province later
the same day, where 3 were shot to death and the other was severely injured.
The event has aroused great attention in China.
On the same day, the CCP government forbid any news
reporting on the event, and deleted relevant discussion posts on the internet,
which further aroused public curiosity about
what has happened.

CNTV (China Network Television) was the first media
to report the event.
According to its news, the police of Jilin City made
an urgent announcement,
which said that four soldiers deserted the garrison troops
between 4:30am and 6am on Nov 9th with one QBZ-95 assault rifle and 795 bullets.
These soldiers named Lin Penghan, Li Xinxin, Zhang Xinyan,
and Yang Fan respectively were all born between 1988 and 1993.
Yang Fan is an NCO (sergeant) and the other three are privates,
who joined the army in December of 2010.

According to information from Weibo, the CCP responded
nervously to the situation.
The security department of Shenyang Military Region and
the police from Jilin, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang Province worked together to chase the deserted soldiers.
A number of armies and police were sent to
crucial intersections to block the way.
After 3pm in the afternoon, the four “deserters” were finally
intercepted near the National Highway 202 at Qingyuan Manchu
Autonomous County of Fushun City, Liaoning Province.

Some on-site reports said that, “the deserters” fired first
from their vehicle, injuring one special duties officer, hence triggering the battle.
Some witness reported online that “continuous gunshots
could be heard” and “three deserters were shot to death and
the fourth was injured and arrested.”

The party network media People.com immediately announced
that “the situation has been under control.”

After the event was reported, it quickly spread over all the
major Chinese network media websites.
However, the relevant news from Weibo websites turned out
to have been deleted since 6pm that day.
On the next day, all the relevant reports on the major Chinese
news websites had been deleted,
and the relevant discussion posts at internet forums
had also been closed.

(Retired veteran from the PLA, Wang):”Now all the reports
have been deleted on the Internet.
Chinese people, especially retired veterans, have echoed
strongly about the event.
Many of us believe that this will become a milestone in
Chinese history,
and will serve as a record of how Chinese people revolt
against tyranny and dictatorship.”

The CCP government didn’t announce the reason why the
four soldiers fled the army with weapons.

Wang speculated from his military experience that,
it is highly probable that the four “deserters” brought weapons
with themselves to aim for killing some corrupted officials.
He said this event illustrates Chinese soldiers’ awakening.

(Retired Chinese veteran, Wang):”As a ‘red fighter’ educated
by the CCP’s ideology, the army is required to be loyal to the party.
More clearly speaking, the army belongs to the party,
and only protects the party.
However, as we can see from this event, those four soldiers
escaped from the (group of) troops successfully with weapons and bullets,
they must have been prepared with a plan before
taking action.
Thus, at least we can tell that the Chinese soldiers’ spirits
are in the process of awakening.”

Wang told NTDTV that there are numerous questionable
issues surrounding the event.

(Retired Chinese veteran, Wang):”There are a number of
points here. First, why is this news strictly forbidden in China?
That’s a question worthwhile to think about.
The answer is that the CCP is scared of more revolts
encouraged by the news.
Second, what were those soldiers going to do
with the weapons?
Note that they didn’t do anything near the troops,
nevertheless they brought all the weapons directly on to their way home.
What on earth did they plan to do?”

An unconfirmed source said that three of the fleeing soldiers
have encountered demolishment of their homes.
The other one’s sister was raped by a city security officer.

Asia Times cited a report from Chinese Human Rights
Centre that claimed the four soldiers’ family members have been brought away and cannot be reached.
Their dwelling villages are also under surveillance.

In addition, according to the Jilin City Police,
those four soldiers come from Troop 65331 located in Jilin City,
which is actually the Armored Regiment belonging to
the 46th Division of the PLA’s 16th Group Army.

The Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission
of PRC, Xu Caihou comes from the 16th Group Army.
He has promoted many subordinates from the 16th Army
and Shenyang Military Region after taking up the position.
Through this he has formed the “Northeastern Group”
which is said to be strong enough to compete with
the “Northwestern Group” led by
another Vice Chairman Guo Boxiong.

(Retired Chinese veteran, Wang):”All the relevant reports
have been forbidden.
I personally believe this is a big plot involving the political
struggle at the level of Central Military Commission.
The 18th CCP Congress is coming and a lot of position
changes will take place.
This event, which involves killing without any evidence,
happened at such a moment.
It will definitely have negative effects on the political
career of Xu Caihou’s entire group.”

Wang also believes that the injured soldier will be killed in
the end, because the CCP won’t allow him any chance to tell the truth.
