Facebook

National Politician Su Rong Sacked for Wrong Political Tie?

Su Rong is the vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political

Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

He has just conducted an official tour in Yushu, Qinghai

Province on the 10th. The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP)

Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced his

being under investigation on the 14th.

Su Rong is the highest ranking official among the 28 corrupt

officials being probed since the 18th National Congress.

Overseas media commented, in the corrupt Communist officialdom,

Su Rong was sacked for taking the wrong political stand, i.e.,

having a tie with either the retired security tsar, Zhou Yongkang,

or former vice-president Zeng Qinghong.

The following is the report.

Vice chairman of CPPCC Su Rong is under suspicion

of violating party rules and state laws, reported the state media.

CPPCC vice chairman is ranked a national leader.

Su Rong has become the first national leader to be sacked

since former Politburo member Bo Xilai fell

after Xi Jinping announced his anti-corruption campaign.

Su Rong’s wife and nephew had reportedly been arrested

earlier this year on suspicion of serious economic crimes.

China issue researcher Zhang Jian does not believe

the anti-corruption is about fixing corruption or returning

power to the people.

Rather, it is a tool to eradicate political opponents.

The tigers that were hit are in the opposing factions.

Zhang Jian says the intensity of the CCP internal struggle is

as serious as life and death.

Su Rong was sacked for taking the wrong team.

Zhang Jian: “When he was in Jiangxi, he had an ambiguous

political relation with Zeng Qinghong and Zhou Yongkang.

The current situation in China has evolved into that the fall

of an official is not due to crime or corruption,

but due to politics."

Zhang Jian indicates, prior to this, Zeng Qinghong had been

expected to be sacked next following Zhou.

Now with Su Rong’s fall, it is a further warning

to Zeng Qinghong.

Hong Kong’s Ming Pao commented, Su Rong’s fall is due to

his “benefactor" Zeng Qinghong’s having drifted away from

the core of power.

Ming Pao reported that Zeng Qinghong had promoted Su Rong

as the executive vice president of the Central Party School

before he retired from president of the school in 2007.

A year later, Su Rong became the Party Secretary of Jiangxi

Province, it was also due to the help from Zeng Qinghong.

Zeng Qinghong is a native of Jiangxi.

For years, Zeng has had major influence over the senior

official appointments in Jiangxi.

Zhang Jian indicates the people are the victims of the CCP

power struggles.

In the name of stability maintenance, the Chinese people’s

desire for democracy, religious belief, and security

of personal assets has become their target.

Overseas media has also repeatedly reported, that as a main

player of Zhou Yongkang’s group, once the coup plan

of Zhou Yongkang and Bo Xilai succeeded,

Su Rong would take a significant role in Zhou’s group.

On March 6 this year, Su Rong was asked if involved

in Zhou’s case during the CCP “two sessions",

he did not answer the question but simply said, “thank you".

Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) indicated the campaign has

lasted longer and struck higher than most analysts had expected

with the largest and fiercest tiger of all, former security czar

Zhou Yongkang, reportedly under investigation .

China affairs expert Zhang Tianliang indicates, both Su Rong

and Zhou Yongkang have had very similar political

advancement through their active roles in the persecution

campaign against Falun Gong.

Zhang Tianliang: “I think he and Zhou Yongkang had a more

direct relationship.

His promotion from Jilin, Gansu, to Jiangxi was in fact

through Jiang Zemin for his strong effort in suppressing

Falun Gong."

Records show that between April 1998 and October 2001,

as deputy secretary of Jilin Province, Su Rong was also

the Jilin 610 Office director presiding over the province’s

crackdown on Falun Gong.

Su Rong had personally conducted the task of “transforming"

Falun Gong practitioners.

According to International Organization to Investigate

the Persecution of Falun Gong, a survey report showed that

during Su Rong’s leadership in Jilin, 23 Falun Gong

practitioners were confirmed “persecuted to death."

Su Rong continued his suppression effort during his posts

in Qinghai and Gansu.

In mid October of 2004, Su Rong went on an official visit

to Africa.

On October 29, he received an order from the High Court

of Zambia.

It was a court summons for the lawsuit filed by overseas

Chinese Falun Gong practitioners.

Su Rong was the first Chinese official detained overseas

for receiving a court summons.

However, he did not show up in the court.

Instead, he returned to China, illegally crossing

the border to Zimbabwe, and then to South Africa.

Since then, Zambia has issued an arrest warrant against him.
