In most countries, news programs broadcast between
6 and 8pm, each with their own local style.
Mainland media said the media in North Korea and Vietnam,
from central TV stations to art propaganda teams
in the countryside, shoulder the mission of conveying
the sound from the “communist central committee.”
However, some netizens posted reviews saying there
are more and more ways to get news with the development
of media diversity, and people nowadays are mainly
concerned about avian flu, accidents and deaths, ect.
They do not care about the news on state leaders.

“We may discover different ideology and cultural
characters from the TV news in different countries.”

An article from Mainland media analyzed the news programs
in North Korea and Vietnam and found that in North Korea,
most news is about the state leaders and that type of news
also takes up the headlines.
International news is reported the least.
Political slogans exists between different news.

The article takes the program, “60 minutes” as a example.

As one of the ten highest-rated programs, “60 minutes” has
the longest history and has ranked in the top ten highest in the nation for 22 consecutive years.
Mike Wallace and other anchors, reporters and editors
are not only glamorous mouthpieces, they are also deep thinkers with soul.
On the other hand, the voices from Ri Chun-hee and other
anchors in North Korea are invincible impressive,
but the content is meaningless and therefore easily forgotten
by people.

Some netizens said that it is the same in China, TV programs
are full of joy, but the society is full of sighs.
In this regard, the cultural critic Ye Kuangzheng said that
analysis from China on TV programs in North Korea is just like the pot calling the kettle black.

Cultural critic Ye Kuangzheng: “First, the News Feed in China
cannot be seen as a real news program, and actually it is a political ritual.
News Feed usually mentions that state leaders are very busy
in the first ten minutes everyday,
and China is full of joy in the following ten minutes,
then overseas is full of disasters in the last ten minutes.
Therefore, the News Feed in China lost the value
of a news program as it does not carry big events timely.”

As the mouthpiece of CCP, the CCTV News Feed began
in 1978, and became the sole news program since then.
It is the mouthpiece of CCP, and truly worthy of the name.

Ye Kuangzheng said, in the old days, Chinese people were
used to watching TV when they had dinner, and they almost treated watching News Feed as a habit.
Now we’ve enter into the Internet age, and many young
people visit the Internet over the “wall” and find news from overseas media.
Therefore, people will get the true news through the Internet
and come to a better understanding of the true situation in China.
They often argue with people who do not use Internet.

Ye Kuangzheng: “The arguments from different people
are based on people’s understanding of the society.
Some people gain news from News Feed and think China
is very well off.
They also think foreign countries are full of disaster.

Others gain news from the Internet, and they must get more
truth including corruption and other issues.
Therefore, these two kinds of people may argue with each other.
I think people who watch News Feed often will be brainwashed.”

Zhu Xinxin, a former editor at Hebei People’s Radio said
that news programs in authoritarian nations are tools for political propaganda,
while they are messages with public
concern in democratic countries.

Zhu Xinxin, a former editor at Hebei People’s Radio: “There
are many differences with the news programs among different countries.
The first should be the differences in political and institutional
systems, then should be the cultural differences.
Because in authoritarian nations, the most important issue
is policital events and power, and news of the society takes a back seat.
News in democratic countries is based on diversity, and media
will put the public concern in the primary position without the authorities’ voice.”
A netizen named Shan Shui Yi Jue said, it will become a real
democratic society when the news is not controlled by the government.
