Facebook

The ‘700 Fingerprints’ Case Upgraded

The incident, known as ‘700 fingerprints,’drew the attention

of China’s government and US’Congressmen.

A claim by 700 villagers from Dongan Village was handed

to the governor of Iowa, USA, Terry Branstad.

It said, Falun Gong practitioner Li Lankui was kidnapped

by the police using the excuse of ‘maintaining stability’ before Branstad’s visit.

The materials of this incident will be taken to the US.

However, Chinese officials said, Dongan Village

is not allowed to handle the matter and upgraded the case.

According to the report from Minghui.org, Li Lankui was

illegally sentenced to labor camp for a year and 3 months,

and is now being illegally detained in Hebei Province,

Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp.

The ‘700 fingerprints’ letter, launched to help free Li Lankui,

recently has received the attention of US Congressmen.

They said that one cannot ignore China’s long-standing

human rights violations and other related issues.

Yet, this caused the ‘700 fingerprints’ case to be upgraded

by the central political and legal institutions in China.

According to a report, the central government threatened

that they will find out who sent the letter.

And threatened the villagers that

who has signed the letter will suffer.

Currently, special and plainclothes police are in the village,

causing white terror atmosphere; they captured Li Lankui’s wife and second daughter.

On August 7, Ms. Yang Yinqiao from Shijiazhuang City fell

from a building and died, when the police tried to kidnap her.

A large number of armed police blocked the area

and the information about this, and threatened her family.

On the same day, many more Falun Gong practitioners

in Zhengding County and near by areas were kidnapped illegally by the police.

On August 13, a large number of police forcibly took away

Falun Gong practitioner Niu Minjie, claiming she is the organizer of Li Lankui’s letter.

The same day, another Falun Gong practitioner, Jia Zhijiang,

was kidnapped by the police for the ‘700 fingerprints’case.

Overseas organization for rescuing Falun Gong practitioners

said, currently relevant China’s agencies do not respond to foreign phone calls.

Reporters called the local police station,

but nobody answered.

The only answer they could get was from Yuhua Public

Security Bureau, Zhuodong Police Station.

They said they do not know if the police had arrested

Falun Gong practitioners.

[Staff voice, Shijiazhuang City, Zhuodong police station]:

‘I don’t know, I have no idea, this is the emergency number.’

In recent years, mainland Chinese have started to stand up

against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

In many places public signatures and fingerprints

were collected to support the Falun Gong practitioners.

Epoch Times reported on August 12, over 300 people stated

they are not afraid of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) suppression.

They expressed their support to the ‘700 fingerprints’ letter

from Zhengding County and surrounding areas.

Their public appeal states: “Zhengding County’ Office 610

and Xipingle police station kidnapped Dongan Village’good man Li Lankui during a foreign dignitaries’visit.

When encountering the resistance and the letter of petition,

the upper government could not discern right from wrong,

and directly threatened the innocent people who tell the truth.

Hearing about this it made us very angry."

Appealing for conscience and moral justice, the over 700

villagers asked the government to instantly free Li Lankui,

as well as to withdraw the police from the village and restore

the safe and peaceful living environment to the local people.

[Zhang Erping, Falun Gong spokesman]:

“CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong continues,

and the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee (PLAC)

still controls the persecution of Falun Gong.

So, we hope to draw the attention of the international

community and the Chinese people.

The PLAC, manipulated by Zhou Yongkang, or Jiang Zemin,

continues to persecute us.

Thus we urge the international community and the Chinese

people, including people up in the Chinese government, to stand up and stop the persecution."

Now, as the CCP faces the protests from the public,

it openly suppresses even harder the public opinion.

This makes the international community more and more

concerned about this violation of human rights by the CCP.
