China’s Fake Electronics In US Military

Recently US’ Senate Armed Services Committee sent
a team in Hong Kong to enter Shenzhen, China,
and investigate fake electronic component imports.
Chinese authorities refused to grant entry visas.
Two US Senate senior members called on Chinese
authorities to cooperate with the US Congress
on investigating counterfeit electronic components.

US Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman
Carl Levin and Republican leader John McCain
spoke at the Congress on June 14 on the issue
of “counterfeit electronic components
imported from China."

Senator Levin said: “In the past few months,
the bipartisan members of the Senate Armed Services
Committee talked with US manufacturers, distributors
and defense contractors. They almost unanimously
pointed out that the fake electronic components
are from China, particularly Shenzhen, Guangdong."

Last year, Business Week published a long report
that the shoddy electronic components from China
got into the US military, and were used
on military aircraft and warships.

The report says that at Robins Air Force Base
in Georgia, fake electronic chips were found
in F-15 fighter plane’s computers.
Hundreds of shoddy routers made in China
were sold to the US army, navy and air force.
Such fake goods may be used for the intelligence
of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
and may cause accidents.

Robert P. Ernst, a Naval Air Systems official,
responsible for investigating the counterfeits,
estimates that among the spare and replacement parts
that the US Department of Defense bought,
at least 15% are fake.

US Defense official in charge of tracking fake goods
conducted a secret project survey. The results show
that in the past few years a total of 115 accidents
were caused by fake electronic chips. But experts
believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Voice of America reported, in March of this year
Senators Levin and McCain emphasized that these
fake components imported from foreign countries
hurt US’ defense industry and national security.
They announced an investigation on the matter.

On the obstruction of the investigation team’s entry
to Shenzhen, Senator McCain said that China asked
for a representative at each private meeting
between the US investigation team and
the Shenzhen company, or visas wouldn’t be granted.
Such restrictions on freedom disappointed the US.

He stressed that this incident also shows how
in China people’s freedom is severely restricted.

Earlier, the EU tax commissioner Semei Ta also said
that China’s fake goods have poisoned
the EU-China trade partnership.

Today in China shoddy products are everywhere.
From fake cigarettes, wines, medicines, phones,
to the toxic rice, flower, sewage cooking oil,
so one can’t be too careful. Even the Ministry
of Public Security has openly admitted not long ago
that fakeness is everywhere in China.
Chinese people suffer terribly from fake products.
And the world is now also affected by that.

Former People’s Daily editor Wu Xuecan pointed out
that with low welfare, low human rights, and
the advantages of low wages, communist China
is dumping off cheap products to the world.
The autocratic CCP regime brought disasters
to China and now is bringing disasters to the world.

Wu Xuecan: “China’s fake, CCP’s name is fake itself.
The Communist Manifesto says that a communist party
does not have its own interests. They use the whole
of mankind for their interests. But the CCP
lets fake products unchecked, and toxic goods harm
the people of China. And now it lets China’s fake,
toxic cargo go to the world and hurt other people.
It’s to maximize the power of the Communist Party."

Reuters reported that the Chinese Embassy
has not responded to this visa refusal incident.
