Petition Websites of the White House

The White House placed a petition on its website,
calling for a ‘repatriation the suspects of Zhu Ling’s case.’
The signature collection explains that’We the People’
drew the attention of people in China.
They suddenly discovered a ‘New World’to express their
thoughts, and many had posted the wishes on this site,
including stopping plant pollution projects, and
requesting the U.S. military to liberate the Chinese people.
Netizens said, Obama “has been promoted
to a global director of the Letters and Visits Office."

White House’ petition site was launched in September 2011,
by the Obama administration to take care of politics.
People can submit a petition with just an e-mail account.

If there are over 100,000 joint signatures within one month,
the White House must respond.

On May 5, on the White House petition website
appeared a signature collection initiative,
calling for repatriation of suspects in the poisoning case
of former Tsinghua University female student Zhu Ling 19 years ago.
Within three days, the signatures for petition
had soared to 130,000.
This is over the threshold of 100,000,
who are netizens cheering against the common enemy.

The news reached China, and people have flocked to
the White House petition website, and launched different signature collections.
Some asked the Chinese communist authorities to stop
the PX chemical projects in Kunming,
and by 3:00 am on May 8,
it has received about 10,000 signatures.

Someone also issued a call’to send army to liberate people
in China;’by 3 am on May 8, about 4,000 people signed it.

A netizen wrote on Sina microblog, “Obama hit big issues."

If a petition asking US to send army to liberate China has
over 100,000 signatures, based on the policy, the White House must respond.

A private scholar Zheng Zhiyao in China understood
and supported people to vote by hands.

Zheng Zhiyao: “Global economy has long been integrated.
We said a few years ago,’One World, One Dream.’
Because we are all human beings, we have thoughts,
feelings, and we all should have dignity and rights.
The United States, in accordance with our often sayings,
is the embodiment and defender of universal values."

Zheng Zhiyao said, with the popularization of
the Internet and the information era,
the flow of information had opened the minds of
many Chinese people.
They become increasingly clear in seeing the world,
and they can choose the right thing to do.

A pioneer poet, freelance writer Wang Zang in China said,
Chinese people flocking to White House for petition,
can be seen as Chinese Communist Party (CCP) having
no credibility at all, and Chinese people not bearing any illusions or any hopes for CCP.

Wang Zang: “They (CCP) never think for the people,
and are always doing outrageous things.
Countless Chinese people became victims.

So many people have suffered for a long time, and cannot
solve problems of their own rights being infringed, and their human rights are not protected.
So more and more people pin their hopes on the
United States Government, Obama, and democratic countries. It could be a trend."

In this case, Chinese people seek help from Western
democratic countries, international human rights organizations, and the international community.
It is a way to protect their own rights as Chinese people.

The White House petition site does not restrict signature
collection applicants nationality or by location,
so on the platform,
there are many international issues.

China-related issues include, in December 2012,

a call on Obama and the US to investigate the
Chinese communist authorities’organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners;
in January 2013, a call on the U.S. government
to impose a ban on major China’s Firewall experts
to enter the US, including Fang Binxing, Xiong Gang
and Han Weili.

In China social media many funny messages were posted.

Imitating CCP’s tone, a netizen said, “To crack down on
foreign petitions, cross-petitions are illegal and criminal acts!"
Other wrote, “Obama is about to become Judge Bao
Qingtian, only needing a crescent carved on his forehead!"
A netizen modified photos of dark-skinned Obama
into the image of Bao Qingtian.

A netizen imitated the tone of Obama, saying, “I really do
not want to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, but others made me interfere."

Li Chengpeng also sends messages on microblog, saying,

after 19 years, the Chinese people went to the
United States website to petition.
It shows that the justice is never far away,
and it is only seeking for a shelter.
