【新唐人2014年08月13日訊】日前，「歐洲中國研究協會」發表報告，指稱中國「孔子學院」的總幹事、「中國國家漢語國際推廣領導小組」辦公室主任許琳，上個月在葡萄牙舉行會議時，偷竊和審查會議的學術材料。有美國媒體建議設有「孔子學院」的美國大學的校長們，好好細讀這份報告，然後公開解釋為甚麼「孔子學院」還需要存在。
美國《華爾街日報》8月7號援引「歐洲中國研究協會」8月1號的報告內容，指稱7月22號抵達葡萄牙會議現場的許琳認定，有些教授的論文「有違中國的規定」，而且她「絕對不能接受」會議手冊中有另一贊助機構——與台灣相關的「蔣經國基金會」。
於是許琳「下令她的隨從立刻弄走會議場所的所有材料」，兩天之後，她才發還這些材料，但她撕去了她不喜歡的內容。
報導說，「歐洲中國研究學會」主席、瑞典「隆德大學東方與東南亞研究中心」主任羅傑•吉萊特（Roger Greatrex）下令，把被撕去的內容重新付印，然後又教訓「孔子學院」的領導說：「如此干預一個獨立而又民主的非牟利學術團體所辦的國際性會議，是完全不能接受的。」
旅美中國學者陳奎德：「孔子學院這個東西，實際上和孔子本身沒有甚麼關係，它是借孔子這個名來做一些漢語教學，但是在中間塞一些意識形態的和全世界的普世價值相對抗的一套價值出去的話，這個東西我覺得是相當值得警惕。」
親眼目睹這場鬧劇的中國學者彭小華在香港《共識網》刊文說，當時與會的漢學家們覺得瞠目，議論紛紛，認為中共當局、和「漢辦」、及「孔子學院」的言、行相背離。
實際上，這種鬧劇在遍佈120個國家的1100所「孔子學院」中普遍存在。2009年，美國「馬里蘭大學」的「孔子學院」安排了中共外交官給學生上課，把西藏達賴喇嘛妖魔化。「孔子學院」還鼓勵教師們進行自我審查，如果討論「天安門屠殺」、「臺獨」及中共領導人巨大財富這些話題，就會失去大筆經費。
2009年掌管中共意識形態的前政治局常委李長春在講話中宣稱：「孔子學院」是中共海外宣傳的一個重要部分。
一位曾在情報單位工作過的美國學者私下表示，不排除「孔子學院」負有監視中國留學師、生的任務，美國不至於天真的以為「孔子學院」只搞學術。
《華爾街日報》在文章中表示，感謝「歐洲中國研究學會」實話實說，還建議設有「孔子學院」的美國大學的校長們，好好細讀這份報告，然後公開解釋為甚麼「孔子學院」還需要存在。
在此之前，旅美中國前籃球隊員陳凱曾前往美國國會作證，他揭露中共當局在國外辦的「孔子學院、孔子學堂」，違背了中國古代教育家「孔子」重視教育的本意，反而成了鎮壓人們思想的宣傳工具，顛覆人們的價值觀。
旅美中國前籃球隊員陳凱：「一個自由的學術風氣，你怎麼會允許專制機構在這設立他的教材？他不但這個教材裡，不能提中國的文化大革命，不能提天安門(屠殺)事件，不能提法輪功，不能提反右，所以你把美麗史帶到美國的學院來，這不是一個洗腦嗎?」
陳凱表示，中共把偽造的歷史帶到國際上，其實是在發揮著中共對外滲透和精神洗腦的作用。他呼籲，國際共同抵制中共洗腦，把「孔子學院」趕出各國的校園。
今年5月，美國100多名大學教授發起聯署，呼籲美國學校中止與中共「漢辦」合作開辦「孔子學院」﹔而加拿大「麥馬斯特大學」，曾因「孔子學院」跟教師的合約，禁止法輪功信仰，被投訴到安大略省人權法院，最終跟「孔子學院」解約。
「歐洲中國研究協會」這次也就「孔子學院」對學術自由的恐嚇方式，拉響了警報，暑假結束時，大學校長和學校校董們要就此事件做出解釋。

European Association for Chinese Studies Exposes
Confucius Institute’s Interference
The European Association of Chinese Studies (EACS)
has issued a report alleging that the Confucius Institute’s (CI)
Director General, Xu Lin, who’s also the director of Hanban,
the Chinese National Office for Teaching Chinese,
reviewed and stole academic material
during a conference in Portugal last month.
Some U.S. media suggested to the university presidents
to review this report and publicly explain
why the CIs need to continue to exist.
On August 7, Wall Street Journal quoted the August 1 report
by the EACS and said that after Xu arrived at the conference
on July 22 in Portugal, she couldn’t accept the participation
of the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation, a Taiwan related
sponsor, and some professor’s papers contrary to Chinese rule.
So Xu ordered her entourage to “immediately remove
all the conference materials from the conference venue."
Two days later, Xu brought the materials back
after removing several pages.
The report said Roger Greatrex, the EACS chair and director
of the East and Southeast Asia Research Centre at Sweden’s
Lund University, ordered that the pages be re-printed.
It quoted Greatrex as saying: “Such interference in the internal organization of the international conference of an independent
and democratically organized non-profitable
academic organization is totally unacceptable."
Chen Kuide, U.S.-based Chinese scholar:
“CIs have nothing to do with Confucius.
They just teach Chinese language in the name of Confucius.
But it also inserts some ideological content that runs contrary
to universal values, which is what we need to watch out for."
Chinese scholar Peng Xiaohua, who witnessed the events,
published an article in Hong Kong-based news website
Gongshi that the participants were so shocked and thought
that the words of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),
Hanban and the CIs deviate from their actions.
In fact, such farce is very common
among the 1,100 CIs in 120 countries.
In 2009, the CI at the University of Maryland arranged
diplomats to teach class and demonized the Dalai Lama.
The CIs also encourage teachers to self-censor.
If teachers discuss topics such as the Tiananmen Square
massacre, Taiwan’s independence or the great wealth of CCP
leaders, they will lose large sums of money.
Politburo Standing Committee member Li Changchun,
who was in charge of CCP ideology, said in 2009,
“CIs are an important part of the CCP’s overseas propaganda."
A U.S. scholar who used to work in an intelligence unit said
privately that CIs might also be responsible for monitoring
Chinese students and teachers, and that the United States
isn’t so naïve as to think that CIs are only about academics.
The Wall Street Journal thanked the EACS in the article for
telling the truth and suggests a careful review of the report
to explain the reason for the CI’s continued existence.
Prior to this, former Chinese-American basketball player
Chen Kai testified before U.S. Congress that what the CIs
promote is contrary to the intentions of Confucius,
and his teachings on paying attention on education.
Chen says it has become a propaganda tool used to suppress
people’s thinking and undermine the people’s values.
Chen Kai: “How could you allow an autocratic organization
to issue its textbooks in a free country’s academic campus?
It doesn’t allow to mention of China’s Cultural Revolution,
the Tiananmen Square massacre, Falun Gong
or the anti-rightist movement in the textbooks.
Isn’t bringing brainwashing into U.S. colleges?"
Chen says that the CCP in fact plays a infiltrating and spiritual
brainwashing role by using fake history in international schools.
He’s calling for countries to together drive the CIs
off campuses globally and to boycott the CCP’s brainwashing.
This May, more than 100 university professors launched a
signature campaign to call on U.S. colleges to end
co-operation with the CCP’s Hanban on CIs.
McMaster University in Canada terminated its contract
with its CI because of the contract the CI made its teachers
sign, prohibiting them from practicing Falun Gong.
The CI’s threatening manner on academic freedom
also set off an alarm for the EACS.
At the end of the summer, the university presidents
and the School Board need to explain on the issue.
