Jiang Didn’t Want To Be CCP’ Head: True Or False?

Recently a short film was spread online about Jiang Zemin,
former CCP’ (Chinese Communist Party) General Secretary.
During a visit to a state-owned company in Hangzhou city
in 2009, Jiang boasted about his “three achievements."
Analysts say Jiang’s video release was an intentional hype
to claim credits for Jiang and it suggests his near death.
The action seems to try impacting the final judgment on Jiang,
and to boost up the confidence of Jiang’s clique.

Jiang visited China United Engineering Corp., formerly known
as the 2nd Design Institute of the Machine Building Ministry.
Jiang assumed the role of a head of its Electrical Section.
In the short film, Jiang has a four-minute long “monologue."

Jiang said in the early 1989, when he intended to retire,
Shanghai Jiaotong University employed him as a professor.
But on May 31, 1989, he was notified by CCP’s
Central Committee to go to Beijing.
Jiang recalled Deng Xiaoping telling him,
“You come to be the General Secretary."
But Jiang “declined” by asking Deng
to “find someone better qualified.”

Wu Fan, China Affairs’ Editor-in-Chief, said Jiang was trying
to shirk responsibility for his crimes during his 13-years reign.

Wu Fan: “He says now he wanted to quit,
but who believes his words?
After 20 years, when it’s time to settle accounts about all
evildoings you’ve done, you say you didn’t want to assume the role of CCP’s General Secretary?
Why didn’t you resign then? You could’ve resigned
even after Deng’s death.
Instead, after stepping down as CCP’s General Secretary,
Jiang kept the position of CCP’s Central Military Commission head for extra two years. That’s what he did.”

In the short film, Jiang outlines his “three achievements."

They include establishment of a socialist market economy,
inscription of Deng Xiaoping Theory in CCP’s Constitution, and proposal of “Three Represents."
Jiang also says, one of his achievements is that he did not
allow the military personnel to be involved in business.

Wu Fan: “I’d like to entitle CCP’s market economy
a comprador market economy, monopolized by bureaucrats.
Deng’s Theory claims to have let some people get rich first.
That made CCP prince lings get rich first.
This way the CCP’s nature had completely changed.
Plus “Three Represents" seems more like a bourgeois party.
What’s more, it accepted capitalists to join the CCP.
Neither fish nor fowl, what on earth is the CCP?
The CCP became a complete chaos
just from Jiang’s reign.”

Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice listed
Jiang’s top ten crimes, namely, 1. Selling China’s territory;
2. Concealing SARS epidemic in China;
3. Destroying the traditional Chinese culture and morality;
4. Gaining political power by supporting June 4th Massacre;
5. Committing genocide against Falun Gong practitioners;
6. Climaxing corruption in the history of China;
7. Cracking down on the dissidents;
8. Persecuting groups with various religious beliefs;
9. Stifling democracy; and 10. Coercing Hong Kong’s Article 23 legislation.

In early July, Hong Kong and Japanese media reported
about Jiang Zemin’s death.
On October 9, Jiang “resurrected from the dead”
but appeared extremely weak and aging.
CCP is always ready to give Jiang the final word. Wu Fan
believes this film hype is due to Jiang’s funeral arrangements.

Wu Fan: “He wants to shirk responsibility and to claim
credit for himself. He is about to die.
The release of this short film is a sign of Jiang’s near death.
So release the film immediately, or it’ll be too late.”

Zhang Weiguo, Editor-in-Chief of Hong Kong’s Trend
magazine, suggests another intention of Jiang’s video.

Zhang Weiguo: “Released at this time, on one hand it is to
drum up support for CCP’s Shanghai Gang and prince lings.
On the other, it is to prevent being divided by other forces
during CCP’s18th Congress’ personnel arrangement.”

Apple Daily’s article from October 25, wrote that CCP’s 6th
Plenary Session stated the so-called “3: 3: 3 pork-cutting principle.”
Youth League’s Li Keqiang, Li Yuanchao and Wang Yang
are expected to enter CCP’s Standing Committee.
CCP prince lings Xi Jinping and Wang Qishan’s
political career look certain.
Yu Zhengsheng, CCP Secretary of Shanghai, seems very
likely to join the Standing Committee as the 3rd prince ling.

Zhang Weiguo: “Before the 18th CCP Congress [next year],
there will be a lot of information of the kind.
But only after that are we going to know the final outcome.
At the moment such messages vary.
This includes political forces’ news releases on who’ll enter
the Standing Committee, exposing their differences.”

Analysts say that Jiang Zemin committed heinous crimes.
He will not escape the trial by the people and the history.
All CCP officials who follow Jiang will face the same fate,
without breaking away from Jiang and the CCP.
