Social Injustice Riggers Protests

Lately, China is troubled by explosions and protests,
with a growing scale. Some experts believe that
social injustice is the cause of mass protests,
as the public’s grievances cannot be eliminated.
When opportunities arise, protests will occur again.

In recent days, Chinese authorities dispatched
tens of thousands military police to Guangzhou.
However, the Guangzhou authorities mention
nothing about the riot in Zengcheng, Guangzhou.

After the protest, many migrant workers began to flee.
The local enterprises now seriously lack manpower.
Many stores dare not open for business.
The local economy is noticeably affected.

Political commentator Lin Baohua:
During the Tiananmen Student Movement in 1989,
such problems were mentioned. Failing to solve them,
the government (CCP) brutally cracked down.
Deng Xiaoping later said about the massacre,
“killing 200,000 to maintain two decades of stability”.
CCP continued its ruthless exploitation of people.
Thus, when the suppressed conflicts break out,
they are more severe than in 1989.

The Sichuan Association in Chaozhou has been
identified by the authorities as the “ring leader”
of the so-called “June 6 Burning Incident”.

Rights Activist Tian Li: Rome was not built in a day.
So long as they keep their current ideas,
I believe such protests will continue to take place.

Chief China Adviser of British Chamber of Commerce
Dr. Wu Kegang told Radio Free Asia that
the mass incidents have been taking place
since China’s reform, due to “social injustice issues".

Guizhou-based political commentator Zeng Ning said,
law enforcement officers often mistreat the people.
This stems from the fact that the public authority
is not granted by the people.
When people petition, they often receive no results.
People’s resentment is ready to explode at any time.

Lin Baohua also said that this kind of conflicts
started to surface since the reforms in the 1980s.
The authorities have always been corrupt, exploited
and oppressed people, but not as serious as now.

Lin: The normal petition channels were blocked.
They arrest petitioners and rights activists.
This is the people finally using force to resist.
I believe this resistance will spread all over China.

Police in Guangzhou started posting reward notices,
calling on the people to report troublemakers.
Informers can receive RMB 2,000 as reward.
Taking troublemakers directly to the police station
can lead to a reward of RMB 5,000 -10,000.

Guangzhou resident: I never saw such reward offer.
Simply reporting to the authorities the whereabouts
of a migrant worker can receive RMB 2,000.
The temptation is so great.
The authorities are encouraging the local people
to fight against the migrant workers.

Hong Kong’s Apple Daily columnist Li Ping said,
“The migrant workers mainly attacked government
agencies, for a solution to their problems.”
Guangdong provincial CCP secretary Wang Yang
“claimed to build a happy Guangdong”.
If he cannot resolve the migrant workers’ issues,
similar unrests are likely to take place elsewhere.
