htt

A Huge Protest Against Waste Incineration Plant In Guangdong

On July 19, 30,000 people protested against the building of
a waste incineration plant in Shiling Town, Huadu District.
The local government dispatched 10,000 police and
special police forces to guard the route.
A few clashes took place between protestors and police.

According to Radio Free Asia, protesters waved banners,
shouted slogans, while walking to Huadu District government.
That evening, authorities took violent measures to disperse
protestors, and dozens of villagers were injured.
Villagers said that on July 15, the local government promised
to give them a reply on Friday.
However, they heard nothing from the government yet,
so they had to protest again.
If their problem is not resolved, they will go to Guangzhou
municipal government to petition next Tuesday.

Strange Blogs, But Are They From The Victim’s Daughter?

Recently, Deng Zhengjia, a watermelon vendor from Linwu,
Hunan, was killed by urban managers.
This incident has turned into a big storm.

Someone even left message on Linwu government’s website:
“Too much injustice will cause self destruction”.
On July 19, the victim’s daughter Deng Yanling posted
on her blog about her father’s autopsy results.
These showed massive intracranial bleeding, as well as
bleeding under the scalp.
She said that authorities were trying to conceal the truth with
useless explanations like a heart attack or other sudden illness.
But, her post was quickly removed.

A few hours later, Deng Yanling apparently posted again:
“thanks to various city departments for proper handling of her father’s case."
The vastly different contents of her posts caused
netizens to suspect that Deng Yanling’s microblog was hacked.
One netizen said that this can only happen in China.

When the local government kills a person, his daughter will
thank the government. That is a Chinese miracle!
Deng Yanling’s 180 degree turn-around let us realize
how powerful our system is.
A Shanghai netizen said that the government did not take care
of people’s families, but it took care of people’s blog accounts.
