People’s Supervision Network Blocked

The People’s Supervision Network once disclosed
indecent videos of Chongqing official Lei Zhengfu.
It also disclosed scandals involving Fan Yue,
a high-ranking official in Zhongnanhai.
However, the network was shutdown recently.

The Weibo accounts of Zhu Ruifeng
and other founder’s were deleted.
Zhu Ruifeng said that the breaking of internal news
irritated the authorities, so they directly ordered
the network to be blocked. Let’s see the reports.

The People’s Supervision Network was found
in June 2006 by the citizens reporter Zhu Ruifeng.
It was approved in May 2007 by
the Hong Kong SAR Government.

Since its establishment, the people’s supervision network
uncovered more than 49 department-level corrupt officials.
It also disclosed 32 corrupt officials below division level,

among whom more than two thirds received disciplinary
punishment, dismissal, or were sent to prison.

Currently, the site is closed, and Zhu Ruifeng
and others Weibo accounts have been deleted.

Zhu Ruifeng told NTD Television
that he is still relatively safe now.
However, because of his recent disclosure of special offers
and nightclubs, some people got very angry and took action.

Zhu Ruifeng:"All my Weibo accounts
were blocked by the Central Office.
This is because of reports on Zhongnanhai official Fan Yue,
and the keywords’special’offer’have been censored.

However, some people working on
anti-corruption are not as safe as Zhu.

The three human rights activists Liu Ping,
Wei Zhongping, and Li Sihua, from Jiangxi
Province, were put under detention on July 16.
This is because they asked
officials to publicize properties.
Previously, they had held banners, asking officials
to publicize their properties, and appealing to Xi
to end the Chinese Communist dictatorship.
Their photos were widely distributed online.

Up to now, at least thirteen activists in Beijing
have lost their personal freedom, after asking
CCP officials to publicize their properties.

Ye Kuangzheng, a Chinese contemporary poet
and cultural critic spoke to NTD Television.
If the Chinese Communists Party (CCP) thinks that there are
organized activities, it will crack down even more severely.
It is worried about the development and
growth of organizational activities, as they
think this can pose a threat to its legitimacy.

Ye Kuangzheng:"A lot of people were detained, but it
may not necessarily be due to the matter on the surface.
It may be due to their organizational
activities behind the scenes.
In Beijing, 10 lawyers were detained, because they
were said to have formed an organizational model."

Ye Kuangzheng believes in the transition period,

the Chinese Communist regime’s power is not
stable, so it is even more lacking in rule of law.

Legal scholar and activist Xu Zhiyong was put under
criminal detention by Beijing Police on July 16.
It was alleged that a he is part of a
mob trying to disturb social order.
Xu is founder of Public Union, and
is one of the civil rights leaders.
He has advocated non-violent action in protect their rights.

Many human rights activists have
lost their freedom recently in China.
This includes Wang Kouma and Wei Qin in Shanghai,
Beijing freelance writers Du Bin and Du Daobin, as
well as director Hou Zhihui of Beijing Fengxing Network.

They are all charged with disturbing social order.

Hua Po, Beijing Political observer: “The (CCP)
has been clamping down on public opinion.
This is especially so recently, as it has becomes more intense.

Everyone in China can feel it now. Now the situation is very
serious, so at this moment, it is controlled more closely."

In Beijing, Hua Po also said that China
currently has a very challenging economy.
With intensified protests against forced demolition and
unemployment faced by millions of college graduates,
has made China into a huge gunpowder warehouse.

It could detonate with even a small spark, so
now the CCP has to put up fires everywhere.

Zhang Jian, China analyst: “If you want to
change China’s symptoms, it is very simple.
Firstly the’blood debt’ group needs eradicating.
Secondly June 4 needs vindication
Thirdly, all Chinese dissidents and human rights
activists need to be released from prison.
Ethnic problems need resolving,
to end cases of self-immolation.
They are all problems which can gain trust from
people, and then people’s lives could improve.
It could be even more effective in gaining trust from
people, rather than just arresting corrupted officials."

Zhang Jian said that from a practical perspective, the
CCP is still following it’s old path, to maintain stability.
It represses people at all costs.

Hua Po highlights that from the democratic trend in
Middle East and other countries, people have power.
If they revolted against the rulers, any
means of repression start to become invalid.
The CCP’s repression can only take effect at
one time, but cannot always have an effect.
