Facebook

Free China Documentary Shocks US Congress

Soon after the 18th human rights dialogue between the US

and China, more than 100 congress staff members who

watched Free China, a documentary film, were shocked

by the CCP’s human rights offenses.

Let’s understand the film Free China together.

Based on the personal experiences of Dr. Charles Li,

Chinese-American businessman and Jennifer Zheng,

former CCP member, Free China: the Courage to Believe,

which won many International Film awards, reflects

the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.

Jennifer Zheng chose to be different from many people who

were sent to labor camps and later exiled incognito;

she exposed the CCP’s darkest secrets to the entire world,

including torture, brainwashing, slave laboring, and

live organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience.

Jennifer Zheng, feature of the film:

“I had this idea when I was in the labor camp.

‘I must expose this to the entire world.’

I feel this inhuman crime against humanity must not be

allowed to exist in human society.”

Dr. Charles Li, also featured in the film, was illegally

sentenced to three years to a labor camp for bring truth to the Chinese people.

While behind bars, he was force-fed, physically punished,

brainwashed, and forced to work long hours.

After being released, Dr. Li still spreads the truth.

Dr. Li: “I personally attended many such private screenings.

Many people were moved to tears.

After watching the film, their first reaction was, ‘what could

I do to help to stop this evil persecution?’"

The experiences of these two Falun Gong practitioners represent

millions of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted in China.

It was their courage to face the persecution which prompted

filmmaker Kean Wong to produce Free China.

Free China producer Kean Wong: “People need

to realize that China is moving toward freedom.

Many people still fail to recognize the efforts of Internet

unblocking software, NTD, and Quitting the Party.

People do not know all these are happening.

At any time, China may have a significant

change, and people can be truly free.

If they understand this, there will be hope for a free China.”

Free China has been translated into 12 languages.

There were about 500 screenings held last year,

including at the US Congress, the European Parliament,

the British Parliament, Canadian Parliament, the

Swedish Parliament, Japan, Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly,

Google’s Silicon Valley, California headquarters,

various universities, famous clubs and so on.

Winning awards and gaining support were only

the first steps for producer Kean Wong.

Free China was named simply for the reason that

this freedom is brought to the people in China.

Kean Wong: “We want to carry out an activity.

We hope to inspire people, not only those living abroad

to support, but also those in China.

Hopefully, the film will inspire people’s conscience

and kindness to stand up for justice and freedom."

In order to allow Chinese viewers to see Free China,

next year, it will be broadcast via satellite to the people in Mainland China.

At the same time, a software to unblock the Internet

will provided links for people to watch the film.

In addition, many volunteers and the awakened Chinese

people will help to promote the film.

When the film Free China has moved so many foreign

dignitaries, scholars, business people,

what kind of impact will this true story have on

Chinese people if it will be screened one day?

Jennifer Zheng: “I believe once the truth of the persecution

of Falun Gong, especially organ harvesting of live

Falun Gong practitioners be known by the people in China,

they will not tolerate the existence of the CCP.”

The documentary Free China: the Courage to Believe, was

produced by NTD and World2Be Productions.

It has won six international awards, including the 45th

Houston International Film Festival in the US and Special Jury Award, and is ready to enter the Oscars.
