Jody: 今天是星期六。我兒子有一個朋友來了。我想給他們做地地道道的美國餅乾。Homemade American cookies! ﹝”家常美國餅乾”﹞

 

Jody: Nothin’(g) says lovin’(g) … ﹝Nothin’(g) says lovin’(g) … like somethin’(g) from the oven. [like somethin’(g) from the oven

 

Jody: 打開烤箱turn on the oven

 

Jody: 打開爐子turn on the stove

 

Jody: 融化黃油Melt the butter. 很多黃油！Lots of butter!

 

Jody: 其他食材有⋯⋯ The other ingredients are …

 

Jody:  雞蛋eggs

 

Felix: Eggs!

 

Jody:  糖sugar

 

Felix: Cover up all that sugar.

 

Jody: 香草vanilla, 麵粉flour

 

Felix:  I put it in this, right?

 

Felix: flour

 

Felix: one teaspoon of baking soda

 

Jody: baking soda [baking soda 蘇打粉]

 

Felix: I got it! Yes! I got it! This is happy kids in China. 高興！Happy!

 

Jody: THREE kinds of chocolate! ﹝THREE kinds of chocolate! 三種巧克力！]

 

Jody/Felix: dark chocolate! [dark chocolate! 黑巧克力]

 

Felix: And Quinn’s gonna be white chocolate.

 

Felix: Do you think this is a good amount, Mom?

 

Felix: So, I guess I’ll mix it up now! [So, I guess I’ll mix it up now! 那我現在要把它都攪拌起來！]

 

Jody攪拌麵團: mix the dough; 聞聞麵團smell the dough; 嚐嚐麵團taste the dough

 

Jody: 在嚐一次!

 

Felix: Great!

 

Jody: 把麵團放在餅乾託盤上Put the dough on a cookie sheet.

 

Jody:  然後放進烤箱Then into the oven.

 

Jody: And seven minutes later … 七分鐘以後⋯⋯ [And seven minutes later … 七分鐘以後⋯⋯]

 

Jody: 它們好啦！… they are done!

 

Quinn/Felix: Yum! Cookies!

Jody: The best thing to drink with cookies?”

Felix: … milk!”

 

Jody: Milk 牛奶! That’s right!

 

Jody: 做餅乾很好玩兒! Making cookies is fun!

 

Jody: 但是吃餅乾更好玩兒！But eating cookies is more fun!

 

Felix: More milk, please.
