One Person Died from 18th National Congress Stability Maintaining

Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported that one person was killed

during stability maintenance of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 18th National Congress.

A male petitioner from Henan was beaten to death

by the Escort personnel.

Right now his body is still at a funeral parlor in Beijing.

It’s reported that petitioner Zhang Yaodong

was from Pingding city, Henan province.

Zhang was stopped on his way to Beijing to petition

an economic dispute.

While being escorted back to his hometown, he was violently

beaten to death because he refused to turn in his cell phone.

As reported, after Zhang Yaodong was beaten to death,

the local authorities didn’t notify his family.

Other petitioners in the same car as Zhang secretly called

Zhang’s family instead.

When Zhang’s family was trying to go to Beijing,

they were home jailed by around 40 people from Pingdingshang municipal government.

An Unprecedented Number of Petitioners Appeal in Beijing during the 18th National Congress

As reported by Radio France Internationale (RFI), compared

to other “sensitive periods”, there are many more petitioners going to Beijing during the CCP’s 18th National Congress.

It was reported that Beijing and local governments

have begun the “city moat activity” to intercept petitioners from going to Beijing.

However, Huang Qi, Director of Information Center

for Human Rights in China, said that

there were as many as 5,000 petitioners who broke through

the “city moat” and arrived in Beijing by November 8.

The action of those 5,000 petitioners is called

“breaking into Beijing.”

Huang Qi stated that there are hundreds of thousands

of petitioners all over China.

The number of farmers who lost their farmland

amounts to billions.

Under strict government surveillance, petitioners still

attempted to appeal in Beijing at the risk of being jailed or put into labor camps.

The petitioners know that if they don’t fight for themselves,

their basic human rights cannot be guaranteed in China.

After a long period of silence and appealing to local governments,

they are very clear that the traditional human rights maintaining channel doesn’t work anymore.

Therefore, they tried to petition in Beijing one after another

with great courage.

Tens of Thousands of Students Protested in Qinghai against CCP’s Suppression of Tibetans

During the first two days of CCP’s 18th National Congress,

there were six self-immolations by Tibetans.

On November 9, tens of thousands of students and ordinary

people walked protested in Tongren County, Qinhai Province.

They gathered in Zhoma Square to protest the CCP’s violating

Tibetan’s human rights and suppressing Tibetans.

As reported by the Epoch Times, Sandega, chief editor

of news in Tibet, said that about 600 students protested on the street.

They lowered down the national flag and shout slogans.

On the morning of November 9, students walked into the street

again and there were more protestors compared to the previous day.

Some ordinary people also joined in.

As disclosed by some people in China, the number

of protesters was as many as 6,000 to 10,000.

Agence France Presse reported that the only action Beijing

government took regarding Tibetan’s self-immolation was to reinforce the supervisory control in Tibetan areas.

More anti-violence police cars are patrolling Tongren City,

Qinhai Province.
