一個由中國媒體高管組成的代表團,在英國謝菲爾德國際記錄片電影節開幕的最後一分鐘宣佈,「不參加了」。這10名團員包括《中央電視臺》、《華娛衛視》、《鳳凰衛視》和《金鷹紀實頻道》的高級主管們。電影節宣傳廣告上聲稱,這是中國前所未有的向電影節派出的高級代表團。

「英國國家廣播電臺(BBC)」14號報導,此前中國駐英大使館要求電影節主辦方,撤下美國獨立製片人陳愛麗(Alison Klayman)的記錄片《Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry (艾未未:永不後悔)》,但被拒絕。

電影節的市場營銷及業務總監坎貝爾•吉萊尼透露,在電影節開幕的前一天,工作人員收到中共駐英大使館的一個電話,直截了當的要求取消兩部影片的放映,其中包括陳愛麗的《艾未未:永不後悔》和斯蒂夫•梅因(Steve Maing)的《High Tech, Low Life (高科技,低生活)》。《高科技,低生活》是記錄中國「公民記者」——佐拉和老虎廟的工作與生活。

中共20年最大間諜醜聞 胡錦濤震怒

中共安全機構發生20多年來最嚴重的間諜醜聞。

路透社報導,今年1-3月期間,中共安全部副部長的一名助理被捕。報導指稱,這名助理多年來向美國提供情報,而中共國家主席胡錦濤大為震怒,他在今年初親自過問此事,下令嚴加調查。

調查顯示,這位據說是安全部副部長陸忠偉的助手,多年來為美國中央情報局工作,並對中情局洩露了中國海外間諜網的情報。陸忠偉是日本問題專家,曾經擔任「中國現代國際關係研究所」所長,也是「國際關係學院」的兼職教授。

青海藏人自焚身亡 官民搶遺體

又有一名藏人自焚身亡。

《自由亞洲電臺》15號報導:自焚藏人名叫丹真塔,青海省黃南州尖扎縣人,現年65歲。當地時間15號早上約6點15分,他在尖扎縣武裝部大門前點火自焚,並在高呼口號進行抗議的半個小時後過世。

匿名藏人說,軍警趕到現場強行將遺體帶走,當地數百名民眾聚集縣政府前展開示威,由於示威人數逐漸增加,迫使當局交出自焚者遺體。

丹真塔成為藏區自2009年起自焚的第39位藏人和第30位身亡者,也是其中最年長者。

另一位流亡印度的青海尖扎籍藏人嘉措向《自由亞洲》表示,自焚者遺體將在星期五晚間進行火化。

China’s Delegation Not Participate Film Festival

At the last minute, a delegation of Chinese media executives

announced they will not participate in Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival in United Kingdom.

10 members of the delegation include senior executives

of CCTV, CETV, Phoenix and Golden Eagle Documentary Channel.

In the Film Festival advertising, it claims there would be

an unprecedented high-level delegation sent from China to the Film Festival.

On June 14, British national radio (BBC) reported, before this,

the Chinese Embassy had required festival organizers to ban

the documentary Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry by Alison Klayman,

an American independent filmmaker, but was refused.

Campbell Glennie, Film Festival’s marketing and business director

said, the day before the opening of the film festival,

the staff received a phone call of the Chinese Embassy in London,

with a straightforward request to cancel screenings of two films,

including Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry of Alison Klayman

and High Tech, Low Life of Stephen Maing.

High Tech, Low Life is a record of the work and life of Chinese

citizen journalists Zuola and Laohumiao.

Biggest Spy Scandal in 20 Years

The Chinese Communist security agencies had the most

serious spy scandal in over 20 years.

Reuters reported during period from January to March,

an assistant of the Vice Minister of the Ministry of State Security was arrested.

The report alleged that this assistant had been providing

intelligence to the United States for many years.

Chinese President Hu Jintao got angry and checked

on it in person. Hu ordered a strict investigation.

The investigation revealed that the assistant of Lu Zhongwei,

Vice Minister of the Ministry of State Security,

had been working for CIA for many years, and

leaked information via an overseas Chinese spy network.

Lu Zhongwei, an expert on Japan issues and was a former director

of the China Contemporary International Relations Institute,

and is also a part-time professor at the Institute

of International Relations.

It is reported, in a sensitive year when the 18th National

Congress Meeting will be held,

the Chinese authorities do not want too much attention

on spy scandals after political and diplomatic crises this year.

A Tibetan Died in Self-Immolation

Another Tibetan died in self-immolation.

Radio Free Asia reported on June 15, the Tibetan who

self-immolated was Dan Zhenta from Jianzha County, Huangnan, Qinghai Province.

He is 65. At 6:15am on June 6, he ignited himself on in front

of the gate of armed forces in Jianzha.

He had shouted protest slogans for half an hour before death.

An Anonymous Tibetan said military police arrived

on the scene and forcibly took the body away.

Hundreds of people gathered in front of county government

for demonstration.

Due to a gradual increase in the number of demonstrators,

it forced the authorities to hand over the remains of his body.

Dan Zhenta is the 39th to conduct self-immolation in Tibet

since 2009, and the 30th to die from it. He is also the oldest.

Jiacuo, another Tibetan from Jianzha who is in exile in India,

told Radio Free Asia the body remains will be cremated on Friday evening.
