Facebook

China’s Red Pad No.1: For Cadres Only

Beijing Red Group Information Technology, Renminwang

website and the Ministry of Industry jointly launched iPad-like device, called “Red Pad No.1.”

Red Pad has premium services for cadres and it is RMB 9999,

(US$1584), or about 3 times the price of iPad2 in China.

As the Red Pad is for cadres only, netizens question

why public funds are being spent so causally like this.

Red Pad uses high-end technology with configuration,

an A9 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage.

Touchscreen applications are preloaded with everything

a loyal party member needs.

Netizens said, cadres only need to update themselves with

some information, is such a high tech tool needed for that?

In addition, it is suspiciously designed

only for premium services of the “Red Group.”

Netizens asked why Red Pad is more expensive than iPad.

Liu Xianri, Beijing Red Group Information Technology legal representative, said Red Pad sells services and information.

The Red Pad, loaded with apps suitable for cadres,

handles work during travel and executive party’s.

Supposedly, it will provide information that will help cadres

effectively make decisions.

Beijing writer, Mr. Li, said this involves commercial interests,

and many special supplements for cadres in China.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) always purchases

the most expensive but not necessary most reasonable goods.

Mr Li: “The device is designed specially for cadres,

I think this is only for China.

There are a few million netizens using microblogs.

If you really care about civilians, care about their livelihood.

Then you should study micro logging to understand people.

Do you really still need that special office system?”

Another key question is whether public funds are used for it.

Netizens believe that Red Pad is aimed at the cadre market.

Buyers will purchase the product with public funds,

so tax payer money will be casually spent.

According to Southern Metropolitan newspaper’s report,

media person Li Datong believes, Red Pad is the new moneymaker of the Renminwang website.

Renminwang wants to use the idea of “allowing leaders

to better serve the public,” by selling Red Pads at high prices.

Ex-CCP Shenyang propaganda office communication director,

Zhang Kaichen said CCP officials openly accept bribes,

openly corrupt, use public funds, and ignore market regulations.

He asked, how can Renminwang, a CCP-controlled media,

sell shares in the stock market, for example?

Zhang Kaichen: “‘Special offering’ is a very evil practice.

Why? There are poisonous foods, poisonous milk, poisonous drugs and poisonous toys.

The entire country is poisoned, but CCP officials

protect themselves from all of these.

They get special offerings directly to Zhongnanhai,

they have special stores, even their air is specially treated.”

Zhang Kaichen said, the existence of these special offerings

allows the market for fake and harmful products to grow.

The fundamental reason is the CCP’s nature to profit itself,

at the price of people’s happiness.
