Facebook

China Holds Low Key Organ Transplant Congress

Due to Resistance from International Society

China is known as the world’s largest organ transplant country.

With international society paying more attention to

the crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong

practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),

China’s organ transplant related meetings and activities

are getting more resistance and condemnation.

The organ transplant meeting originally scheduled in September

did not get as much attention as before

and the date had to be postponed.

China’s Transplant Conference scheduled to be held in

Chongqing at the end of September

will be held on October 29 in Hangzhou.

Chinese officials said the change of time and location

is due to “some special reason."

Zhu Wanqi, spokesperson for the Taiwan Falun Gong

Human Rights Lawyers Group, said that previously

China’s Organ Transplant Conferences were high-profile.

This year it is very low key, with only a Chinese website.

Zhu Wanqi asked many transplant medical experts about it,

who said they did not get an invitation.

The experts also said that even if they were invited,

they would refuse to participate.

What is the cause of China’s Organ Transplant Conference

becoming more and more low profile?

Commentator Li Shanjian: “China’s organ transplants, especially

harvesting organs from prisoners of conscience, is illegal.

Each of its activities will cause further concern from the world.

Some people must want to hide this,

facing pressure internationally."

Eight days before China’s Organ Transplant Conference,

Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH)

published a statement stating that China’s usage of

organs forcibly harvested from executed prisoners,

prisoners of conscience and Falun Gong practitioners

as recurring transplant sources violates ethical norms.

Therefore DAFOH advocates the

international medical community not to participate in,

nor support China’s Organ Transplant Conference,

or other relevant professional activities.

Taiwan Association for International Care of Organ Transplant

(TAICOT) appealed on October 27 to all professions

to resist CCP abuse of organ transplantation.

TAICOT deputy council member Huang Shiwei:

“These meetings have no way to solve the real problem.

The CCP must commit not to use organs of the imprisoned.

It must have traceable and transparent organ sources.

It must carry out investigations, but it does not want to

investigate the organ transplants done in the past 14 years

and the more than 600 organ transplant hospitals.

It doesn’t want to commit not to use organs

of prisoners of conscience."

During China’s Organ Transplant Conference

held last November, the CCP signed the

Hangzhou Resolution witnessed by

the chairman of the World Organ Transplant Association,

claiming it would stop using organs from executed prisoners

by June 2014,

and would hold an international conference then

But a year later, the CCP not only did not comply

with the commitments, but also continues to attract

international patients for organ transplant tourism to China.

In February, 2014, the World Organ Transplant Association

published an open letter to CCP President Xi Jinping,

calling for changes to China’s corrupt and abusive

existing organ transplant market.

Organizers of the"2014 World Organ Transplant Congress"

held in San Francisco in July, rejected the 35 Chinese doctors

from taking part because of medical ethical reasons.

CCP has changed its statements over the sources of organs.

Faced with allegations from the international community,

a CCP spokesman claimed before that

organs were entirely from voluntary donations.

When CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Gong

practitioners was exposed,

CCP admitted with high-profile that most of the organs

are from executed prisoners.

Huang Shiwei: “Until now China’s organ transplant system

is completely dark and even involves crimes against humanity.

It is easy to involve a lot of people in it."

Four years ago, Southern Weekly reporter found out during

his interview with Zhongshan First Hospital president,

He Xiaoshun, that the year 2000 was a breakthrough

in China’s organ transplantation.

Liver transplants in 2000 were ten times more than in 1999,

and the number in 2005 was three times that of 2000.

So, what caused a tenfold increase organ source in 2000?

According to minghui.org, since theCCP started the persecution

of Falun Gong in July 1999,

Falun Gong practitioners all over China went to Beijing

to appeal for justice for Falun Gong.

When they were arrested, they refused to give out their

names and addresses to avoid impact on their work units.

World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of

Falun Gong (WOIPFG) found out that

Falun Gong practitioners who did not disclose their identity

became a live organ supply base under the policy of

“No Crime for Killing Falun Gong Practitioners"

ordered by CCP leader Jiang Zemin.

WOIPFG recently published the first list of names of

medical staff suspected of

involvement in live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.
