Facebook

Hu Yaobang’s Son Calls For Justice for The

Tiananmen Massacre Victims

On April 15, the public commemorates the anniversary of

former Communist Party General Secretary Hu Yaobang’s

death, even though the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and

the media remain silent.

Hu Yaobang’s youngest son, Hu Dehua, praised how Hu

Yoabang abolished the Communist class status that had

kept the Chinese in fear for generations.

Hu Dehua also condemned the CCP cover up

of the June 4 incident.

The following is our report.

On the 25th anniversary of Hu Yaobang’s death, Hu Yaobang’s

youngest son Hu Dehua went to Jiangxi to pay tribute to Hu

along with other princelings, including former party secretary of

Jiangxi, Wan Shaofeng’s granddaughter Chen Bihong.

Hu Yaobang’s death triggered the 1989

pro-democracy movement.

The regime has since downplayed Hu Yaobang.

His name was censored on the Internet,

and his burial site has been ‘quiet’.

Hu Dehua told South China Morning Post, “In the History of

the Chinese Communist Party, he was not listed as if he had

never existed."

Hu Dehua believed that his father was not sorry for the loss of

the supreme power, but regretted that reforms were abandoned.

He had hoped to bring balance of powers for the government.

Hu Dehua said, “Hu Yaobang could have been another national

hero after Sun Yat-sen, but unfortunately, was removed."

Among the many heritages from Hu Yaobang, Hu Dehua was

most proud of his father’s advocacy of democracy and the rule

of law.

He was also proud of his opposition to the repressive rule, the

political movement to rehabilitate the victims, and the abolition

of the “Black Five".

This is a discrimination against the so-called political enemies,

which allowed the Chinese people to free from fear since the

ruling of the CCP.

Hu Yaobang abolished the class status category in the personal

document.

Hu Dehua believed that in the era of Hu Yaobang, termination

of the status quo of an individual in politics, i.e., landlords, rich

farmers, anti-revolutionists, bad-influencers and capitalists, is

equivalent to President Abraham Lincoln abolishing slavery.

Hu Dehua told Ming Pao that it is lack of respect for the

victims who died during the June 4 massacre by covering

up the truth.

He questioned the CCP, “What crimes had the students

committed?" and “the lack of respect to the dead."

He demanded an explanation.

Zha Jianguo, Beijing dissident: “He was removed from the

party’s general secretary post because he was being weak in

opposing the bourgeois liberalization.

That was very wrong and the intellectuals and the general

public were unhappy about the charge."

Beijing dissident Zha Jianguo was warned not to participate the

memorial of Hu Yaobang.

Zha Jianguo indicates that the1989 student movement was

initiated in support of Hu Yaobang for the injustice he received.

It later evolved into a democratic movement

against the corrupt officials.

However, the regime classified the legitimate mass activities

as unrest, which further inspired greater dissatisfaction by the

people and subsequently the vigorous democracy movement

took place.

Zha Jianguo: “Over 200,000 Field Army personnel were sent

to crackdown on the entirely peaceful students demonstrations

with violent repression and created the bloody massacre."

Recently, Beijing University of Science and Technology

Professor Zhao Xiao published series of articles on-line to

commemorating Hu Yaobang.

One of them mentioned, Hu Yaobang was “the first top CCP

leader who wore a suit."

In a post on April 15, Zhao Xiao wrote, “Some people have

died but actually live on; others live but have already died.

Some people live in fear and some died of honor.

There are people saying: “When I die, why care about the

disasters!"

The Bible says: “Man is destined to die once,

and after that to face judgment! That is righteous."

Liu Yinquan, former professor of History: “Had Mr. Hu

Yaobang’s ideal been followed, there would have been less

problems in China today.

Had the students’ demands been answered, the corruption would

not have been so prominent as it is today."

Professor Liu Yinquan indicates that Hu Yaobang represented

the liberal faction of the CCP. Even though the CCP refuses to

value him, the general public have their respect for him.

Hu Yaobang’s daughter once wrote that in 1988 on his way back

to his hometown after he stepped down, Hu Yaobang received a

warm welcome by numerous people.

Even when hospitalized, people continued to visit him.
