Death Toll in Tianjin Fire Rises To 58

A recent large fire in a shopping mall in Tianjin city has sparked numerous

posts on Chinese blogs, sympathizing with those affected.

The public expressed doubts on the official death

toll of ten deaths.

Some people have spontaneously collected a list of victims

and posted it on the internet, with the latest figure reaching fifty-eight.

—— Tianjin Fire Disaster Truth Tightly Sealed ——–

Ji County, where the large fire erupted, was heavily guarded

by police from the scene of the fire all the way to the local crematorium,

according to an Epoch Times report.

Plainclothes police were found all over the city.

Many middle-aged women standing by the roadside “warmly"

approached to chat with any non-local person,

but warned in whispers, “Don’t look around and talk willfully,

otherwise, you’ll face arrest."

The victims’families were reported to have been

under surveillance.

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members throughout the

county were required to swear to steer clear of the fire disaster.

Even the local taxi drivers were forced to remain silent.

Regarding the events local people were tongue-tied

on the issue, with panic seen in their eyes.

The Epoch Times quoted informed sources, saying that

lots of Tianjin citizens were arrested for talking about the fire

or disclosing the relevant information.

The Ji County’s Detention Center has been overcrowded,

and detainees were partially transferred to Tianjin city.

An online post called on reporters

with behind-the-scenes support,

“You may go to visit the Detention Center located in the east of

Ji County, where a lot of truth-speaking residents were detained.

Offer your hands to rescue them, the truth will be unearthed."

The report mentioned that some mainland media reporters have

suffered threats and arrests for their attempts to uncover the truth.

——Bo Xilai Family Hid US$ 6 Billion in the West ———

Japanese media entity, The Asahi Shimbun, reported that

Gu Kailai has taken bribes of US$ 6 billion since 1990 until her arrest.

The illicit money was said to be deposited in the US and UK.

How the money will be handled,

and whether the implicated French architect would go to

China are both issues that evoked the world’s attention once again.

According to overseas media reports, informed sources

revealed that it has been verified that the majority of the money was hidden in the UK, the US and France.

The huge capital, which has thus far been unable to be located,

had been reportedly transferred by Xu Ming and

other businessmen in China, and then

hidden overseas by Neil Heywood and the French architect.

After Heywood’s death, the summons on the French architect

is deemed of great significance for the progress of the case.

——Shove Behind the Shifang Pollution Project ———

The mass protest that broke out against the construction of a

molybdenum copper plant in Shifang City, Sichuan Province, was settled.

The plant, which would have caused heavy metal pollution,

was a project planned by Hongda Group Co. LTD.

Hongda was thus brought under the world’s spotlight.

Local insiders said that Liu Canglong, head of Hongda Group,

had established unusual connections with Zhou Yongkang,

reaching all the way back to Zhou’s tenure as Sichuan’s Party chief.

The Epoch Times cited an insider named Mr. Wang

as saying that

Liu Canglong has set up deep connections with a number of

senior officials in the Jiang’s Zemin faction.

Under this layer of protection, the Hongda Group has since

started a succession of large projects.

The Party chief of Shifang city, Li Jincheng, approved the

molybdenum copper project, despite local officials’opposition.

Mr. Wang revealed the shove behind the SWAT police’s

continual suppression in the Shifang incident

is Party chief of the Political & Legislative Affairs Committee,

Zhou Yongkang.
