【新唐人2013年10月23日讯】联合国审议中国人权 中共继续抓人

联合国人权理事会10月22号启动对中国人权记录的普遍定期审议。这是联合国人权机构在中共新一届领导人就任以来,首次审查中国的人权状况。在定期审议辩论中,西方国家对中共逮捕活动人士、限制互联网的使用,以及对少数民族的打压提出批评。

中共则在会上为自己的人权记录辩护,同时,也继续在国内抓捕人权人士。

据《自由亚洲电台》报导,30多名从6月份起就到中共外交部请愿,要求参与撰写中国人权报告的请愿者,22号再次前往请愿。

参与当天请愿的北京访民李女士介绍,现场气氛紧张,她们无法走近外交部。其中四人更被当场抓走。

而外交部请愿活动的关键人物曹顺利,自9月中旬被警方抓捕后,至今下落不明。

海外藏人日内瓦万国宫抗议

在联合国举行审议的当天,一些藏人也在瑞士日内瓦联合国办公室外举行抗议活动。

一名联合国发言人向《路透社》表示,至少三名来自"自由西藏学生运动"组织的示威者,爬上联合国欧洲总部万国宫的脚手架,拉开了写有"中国人权–联合国关注西藏"的横幅,抗议北京政府对西藏的政策。

而中共国务院则在这一天发表西藏白皮书。海外藏族组织指称,中共是故意在联合国审议其人权状况时,借此转移媒体视线。

湖南网路名人格祺伟被逮捕

日前,中国网路又有一名大V名人遭逮捕。据大陆媒体10月21号报导,自称“全媒体记者”、“自由撰稿人”的中国网上名人格祺伟,在湖南被捕,湖南警方指控他涉嫌敲诈勒索。与格祺伟一起被捕的还有其他4名记者。

据报导,这是中共打击网路谣言行动以来,中共公安部公布的第7起典型案例。

格祺伟原名周波,2004年大学新闻系毕业后,先后在多家媒体工作。2009年返回老家衡阳市祁东县,开始以“格祺伟”的名字活跃在网路媒体。

2010年,格祺伟在各大网站注册微博,在披露“安徽合肥少女被烧伤毁容案”等事件后,名气大增,微博粉丝超过70万。

Chinese Communist Party Arrests Activists While UN
Reviews Its Human Rights Record

On Oct. 22, the UN Human Rights Council examined China’s
human rights status.
This is the first time reviewing China’s human rights record
since the new leadership took power.
During the UN session, many Western countries accused
the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of arresting activists,
controlling the internet, and suppressing ethnic minorities.

China has made a defense of its human rights record.
While inside China, the CCP is arresting activists.

Radio Free Asia reported, at least 30 petitioners protested
outside the Foreign Ministry in Beijing since June.
Some citizens joined the protest again on Oct. 22 when they
requested to participate in reviewing the human rights record.

A Beijing petitioner Ms Li says the atmosphere is intense;
they cannot approach the Foreign Ministry.
Four protesters were arrested.

Cao Shunli, who helped stage the protest outside the Foreign
Ministry, was arrested in September and not been seen since.

Overseas Tibetans Protest Outside UN Office In Geneva

On Oct. 22, Tibetans protested outside
the UN building in Geneva.

A UN spokesperson told Reuters that at least three protesters
from Students for a Free Tibet scaled the building and showed
a banner. reading “China fails human rights in Tibet – UN
stand up for Tibet".They protested at the Tibetan policy.

On the same day, China’s State Council issued a
White Paper on Tibet.
The overseas Tibetan group says the Chinese Communist Party
(CCP) deliberately diverts media attention when the UN began
to review China’s human rights record.

Hunan Online Celebrity Blogger Ge Qiwei Arrested

Recently, another celebrity blogger was arrested in China.

On Oct.21, media in Mainland China reported that Ge Qiwei
claimed himself as a reporter and freelance writer.
He was arrested in Hunan Province.

The police alleged he was involved in extortion.
Four other reporters were arrested with Ge.

Sources said this is the seventh typical case announced by the
Public Security Ministry since cracking down online rumors.

Ge Qiwei’s real name is Zhou Bo.

He has worked for several media companies since graduating
from the news department in a university in 2004.
In 2009, Ge returned to his hometown Qidong County in
Hengyang City.
He started using Ge Qiwei as his pen name on the internet.

In 2010, Ge registered Weibo microblog on main websites.

He exposed a case of a young girl’s face being burned and
disfigured in Hefei, Anhui.
Ge became well-known since, his microblog has more
than 700,000 fans.
