China’s Richest Wanted By CCP

The top ruling entity of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
decided to let the richest man in China, Liang Wengen,
the CEO of SANY Group, to enter the highest CCP level
during 18th National People’s Congress (NPC) next October.
CCP’s media have been heavily reporting that Liang Wengen
will become a substitute member of the Central Committee.
Analysts do not see this as good news for Chinese business,
nor as a sign of political changes.
They think this rather shows the trend of increasing collusion
between Chinese politicians and business leaders.

Mainland Chinese media reported that China’s richest man
Liang Wengen might enter CCP’s Central Committee (CC),

as a substitute member during next year’s 18th NPC,
and might even be given a vice-minister’ level position.

The reports revealed, the Central Organization Department
has already completed its investigation on Liang Wengen.

Liang Wengen is one of the founders of SANY Group
and is currently the CEO of the company.

SANY is one of the most renowned businesses in China,
but Liang Wengen’s name was not well known until now.

This year was revealed that his net worth is US$9.3 billion.
Forbes and Hurun ranked him as the richest man in China.

According to sources, only officials with a rank
higher than vice-provincial governor

can be elected as a member or substitute member
of the CCP’s Central Committee.

Liu Yiming (freelance writer), “This richest man entering CCP
is not good news for the business community,

or a sign of a political reform. This just shows the increased
collusion between Chinese officials and businesses.

Before it was just collusion, now they do it publicly.
It shows that the Chinese officials and business leaders

are getting increasingly closer – from the collusion
of the past now they try to become one unified entity.

It also shows that China is increasingly turning
into a capitalistic society.”

The CCP’s Central Committee consists of 300+ members
and it is the highest power entity of the CCP.

About 10 Years ago, the former CCP leader Jiang Zeming
proposed to let businessmen enter the Central Committee.

Sun Wenguang (Former Shangdong University’ Professor):
“Its (CCP) goal is to attract these people, because there are
many super rich private businessmen in China now.

They have influence, so CCP wants to attract such people.
But this is not really important – how competent are they,

can they run a country? Members of the CC are not elected,
which one was truly elected? They are actually appointed.”

Liu Yiming wrote, “What is the message behind letting
the richest man in China enter the Central Committee?”

He pointed out that during Mao Zedong’s era,
the CCP robbed everything from the rich people.

Now that CCP officials and their families became super rich
from Jiang Zemin’s era,

protecting private property is suddenly in the Constitution.

This is not to protect common people’s property,
but to protect the private assets of the CCP officials.

Liu Yiming, “On the surface it looks like an election, but
many problems exist with it, as it is not really an election.

Deputies of the National People’s Congress and these
(Central Committee) members are all appointed from above.

Very few are elected, mostly are appointed, the election
is only a show, it doesn’t decide who is elected or not.”

In addition, Liu Yiming pointed out that the wide spread
forced acquisition of land and forced demolitions of homes,

clearly demonstrate the CCP’s position on handle those
private properties, obviously it’s not people’s interests.
