廣東佛山市上千名參加過越南戰爭的老兵,8月23號,集體到樂從鎮遊行並包圍公安局抗議警方在一宗命案中不作為,並有包庇兇徒的嫌疑。

這些老兵穿著軍服,揮動所屬團體的旗幟,拉起橫幅,到樂從公安局門前堵路示威,要求公安局「秉持公道,嚴懲兇手」。

當局派出數百武警和防暴警察戒備,並開來三部大巴準備抓人。

據《自由亞洲電臺》報導,現場目擊者表示,遊行大隊到達公安局門口後,隨即進行靜坐,過程約兩個小時,之後示威者和平離開。

據《茉莉花》網站報導,事件起因於一位越戰老兵的兒子,去年12月擔任治安員時,因勸架被砍六刀後死亡,行兇者至今沒有抓到。死者父親懷疑兇手背後有保護傘,因此組織眾多戰友到派出所門前討公道。

傳海伍德家人將索巨額賠償

谷開來謀殺英國人海伍德被判死緩後,她和另一被告張曉軍當庭表示不上訴,受害人家屬有權抗訴,但海伍德親屬對宣判結果卻保持沉默。香港《蘋果日報》引述消息說,海伍德家人正在跟北京溝通,索取巨額賠償。

加拿大記者:《新華社》僱他當間諜

曾為《新華社》工作的加拿大自由記者鮑瑞(Mark Bourrie)最近透露,他的工作是利用記者的身份為《新華社》充當間諜,暗中監視在加拿大的法輪功、達賴喇嘛和其他異見人士。

鮑瑞說,在2010年,當胡錦濤出席多倫多G20峰會時,他的任務是確認那些抗議者的身份,以及他們的住地。當他發覺他被利用充當中共的間諜收集情報時,今年4月28號,自動從《新華社》辭職。

加拿大安全情報局(CSIS)局長法登曾表示,《新華社》是中共情報機構,接觸時一定要多加小心﹔他並且警告說,中共間諜已滲透到加拿大政治之中。

美國關注新一波藏人自焚事件

美國國會及行政部門中國委員會,星期三在華盛頓發表報告說,自上次—-去年(2011年)12月委員會報告以來,在藏人呼籲西藏自由和達賴喇嘛重返西藏的同時,藏人自焚的頻度和廣度都有上升。

據報導,從去年12月到今年8月,又發生了33起自焚事件,其中13起是在四川以外地區,14人是非僧侶的平民。

報告說,新一波自焚事件發生的背景,是中共政府利用司法手段,加緊迫害和控制西藏文化,中共當局認為自焚危機威脅到國家安全和社會穩定,但並不認為是自身政策失敗的結果。

Vietnam War Veterans Protested Shielding Of Murderers

On August 23, thousands of Vietnam War veterans took part
in a parade, surrounding the police department in Lecong Town, Foshan City, Guangdong Province.
They protested against police’ inaction in a murder case,
suspecting them in shielding the murderer.

Wearing military uniforms and waving banners, the veterans
blocked the road in front of the police department’s gate.
They asked the authorities
to uphold justice and punish the criminals.

The authorities dispatched hundreds of armed and riot police,
to be on alert, and three buses to be ready for arrests.

According to Radio Free Asia’ report, an eyewitness said,
when the parade reached the police department, they sat down in silence about two hours, and left peacefully.

The Jasmine website reported about a Vietnam War veteran’
son murder in December last year.
He was a security guard, and while trying to break up
a fight got knifed six times, but the killer was not caught.
The father suspects the murderer is shielded, and organized
his comrades to protest in front of the police department.

Haywood’s Family Seeks Solid Compensation?

For the murder of UK’s Neil Haywood, Gu Kailai got
a suspended death sentence,
but neither her nor the other defendant Zhang Xiaojun
said they will appeal.
The victim’s family has the right to protest, but Haywood’s
relatives kept silent until the sentence was announced.
Now Hong Kong’s Apple Daily quoted a source,
that Haywood’s family is communicating with Beijing to obtain solid compensation.

Canadian Reporter Spied For Xinhua

Mark Bourrie, Canadian freelance reporter for Xinhua,
has revealed about his work as a spy on Falun Gong, Dalai Lama and other dissidents in Canada.

Bourrie said, when Hu Jintao attended the G20 summit
in Toronto in 2010, his task was to confirm the identity and the residence of the protesters.
When he found out that he was used as a CCP’s spy,
he resigned from Xinhua News Agency on April 28, this year.

Richard Fadden, Secretary of the Canadian Security
Intelligence Service (CSIS), spoke about the issue.
He said that Xinhua News Agency is Chinese Communist
intelligence agency and one must be more careful when having contacts with them.
He also warned that CCP’s spies
have infiltrated the Canadian politics.

US Concerned About Tibetan Self-immolations

US Congressional-Executive Commission on China posted
a new report in Washington on Wednesday.
It said, since its last report in December,, the frequency
and breadth of human self-immolations in Tibet has gone up.

It states that from December last year to August this year,
33 self-immolation incidents took place, 13 of which outside of Sichuan, with 14 of them being non-monks but civilians.

According to the report, the reason for the new wave was
the Chinese communist government’s use of judicial means to persecute and control Tibetan culture.
Communist authorities believe the self-immolation crisis
had threaten the national security and social stability, and do not think it is a result of their failed policies.
